I think your mistaken badfx I have an 05 SEEG Red and I have the Race Tuner and it does both 2001 to 2004 maps and 2005 maps .    It comes with version 4.x of the Harley Software.   If you try and use an 04 mt5 map it will not work with your 05.   You have to go into the files and choose from an 05 map then make corrections the only one worth starting with is the 05 Screaming Eagle Fatboy.   You can go into the maps and read the comments and it will tell you what it is tuned for.

Do I understand correctly?
There is a map in the race tuner for the SE 103 Fatboy but not for the 103 SEEG? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Never mind, MFG has a post in "race tuner malfunction" that has links to the race tuner manual, and it does indeed have a 2005 FLHTCSE2 map for stock bike w/screamin eagle a/c and se mufflers....Mike

I have screamin eagle pipes #65115-98b on my seeg. they were $380 plus I needed end caps for another $80. I think there too quiet.

I started with these on the stock headers.  I also thought they were a little quite unless hard on the gas.  I have since replaced the stock headers with V&H true dual headers and kept the SE #65115-98b mufflers.  They are now as loud as anyone could want with a low tone in the low RPMS.  If you want loud, this works without spending another $800 for the Rineharts.

Cheers [smiley=beerchug.gif]

Starvin,
Asking people about mufflers and exhaust is almost like asking them what is the best color for a bike?  The sound and appearance is very subjective and everyone has their own opinion about which setup is best. Do yourself a favor and listen and look at others bikes until you formulate your own opinion before spending your money. Take it from me, I have spent a fortune on exhaust since I got my SEEG2 in late Oct. I started by replacing the stock muffs with SE 1 piece, then with SE 2 piece, then added the V&H true dual head pipes, and now have the Rineharts on. (and they didn't and shouldn't cost $800, I paid $589 delivered to my door) The only thing semi concrete about exhaust systems is how they perform, and if you are a HP junkie there are some guidelines you can find easily online about how each type (two into 1, true duals, slip ons, etc.) perform. As with anything else there are compromises to be made. One other consideration when choosing exhaust is what type of EFI management system you are going to use (Power Commander, Race Tuner, etc.).  If you use a popular combination you can use an existing map, at least until you decide to have it dyno tuned. Since I went to the Rineharts, I was able to get a map for $49 that is much better than any of the other combos I was running (no decel popping,etc.).  As for me, I would like to have an exhaust system that had the nice mellow sound that the 2 pc. SE muffs have when they are brand new, that perform like a 2 into 1 disc style exhaust system, has the looks of a nice true dual (conventional muff) system, and don't burn out and get louder. They don't make it, so I am still looking, but I am happier with the Rineharts than any of the others I tried so far.

RRSteve,

I have only heard one bike with the Reinhardt duals and it seemed kind of loud even at idle, but that was inside the HD shop.
How much louder would you say they are over the SE slip ons".

My new bike is way to quiet, I can hear the intake over the exhaust, but I don't want to make it obnoxiously loud either. Never had a bike with a radio before, and I thnk I might enjoy listening.

Thanks,

Duane

The dealer is mistaken. I have an 05 bought in October and I have the Race Tuner. I had to wait on it to come in due to the change in software revision but it was not a problem since I ordered it before the bike came in. The part number is 32107-01C and it is the same part number for the 04. The only change was software revision between 04 and 05.
On the other hand, if you don't have someone local who is proficient at tuning with a race tuner you are better off to just get a download from the dealer for your pipes and breather kit, or the Power Commander. The Race Tuner is great if you have someone local that can tune with it but there are few around that can at this point in time.

Duane,
I am not sure how much louder they are, but I can hear my radio fine with the HogTunes speakers. Some of the guys that ride with me say they are much louder and others say not louder, just different. They do seem a louder to me, but not that much. I will say that I liked the sound of the SE 2pc muffs better than the Rineharts, before I installed the true duals. I was determined to have the duals, so I ripped it all off and installed the Rineharts. Like I said before, what sounds good is a very individual preference.

Badfx,

RRSteve is correct in the information he is giving you.   I bought one from Orlando Harley when I purchased my 05 SEEG and I bought one at Ocala Harley for my 04 SEEG both within 2 1/2 weeks and both had the latest software.   If you call Ocala Harley you will find that you can buy the parts at 20 percent off and have them shipped to you.   Great to deal with for saving some money.

Thanks again

I like hearing about different pipe and header combinations on our bikes. I did what JMorton did and put the PATMikuni baffles in the SE mufflers. I wanted to stay with the SE theme on the bike and also have a deeper sound and a less restrictive muffler. I also installed the V&H true duals as they look great and the fit and finish is as one would expect from them. This combination has a very unique sound, like nothing I have heard before. A VERY sharp staccato note at idle and when you get on the pipe. I was not sure if I liked it at first but it grew on me.  It is loud enough to get a ticket in Laguna Beach for "excessive noise...inadequate baffles" [smiley=furious.gif].

Loud for the sake of loud is ridiculus .     I think the pipes you had SE from the race catalog with the stage one intake, work the best and also look the best
