new problem, heated grips went out
« on: November 27, 2007, 07:06:49 PM »

call me spoiled, but I like riding in 32 degree and above weather.
grips went out, not the fuse, dealer service tech said that the new internal wiring is a bitch to fix, also the heated grips have been an issue with another 08 SEUC.
I'll keep you posted

Harley's heated grips have been an issue; period.  From their initial release several years ago as an accessory product they have had very high failure rates.  As OE product on the SE Ultras they've not been better.  It's a crap shoot as to whether one gets a set that works for a long period of time or not.

They were OE on your bike Randy.  So extended warranty should keep right on replacing them.  It's replaced them on Mrs.We's bike a half dozen times...

I think they were designed by the same folks that brought us the 110" Engine! ::)

Howie,
I think the MoCo is saving $$ by using the same engineers for the Engines and Heated Grips,
and us for the test bed!!
What a novel idea...NOT... and the sagas(plural) continue for us !!!

My grips still work.  For a while they would sorta work, but now they work great.  I know something is wrong with them.  Has to be, but as long as they get hot, I'll leave 'em be..............or at least until I get tired of waiting to convert to WO575.  I keeping hoping if I keep talking about them, they'll crap out, thus justifying the Heat Demons and new grips purchase.   ;D
