I have had it, very very discused over my grips. As you all have seen, awhile back I posted mine were out only a month after I got the bike. I bought the UC out of town and have been taking it a home town dealer. I am wondering if I am getting the " Treatment " for not buying it there. Anyways, 3 months ago I too it in for replacement, 8 hrs later ( all so had the dreaded rear gasket repleased for oil leak ). Don't have the parts will order them. Month later came back and 8 hrs later, wrong part will re order the right part. This month I was back there to get it fix again and figured I would go ahead and get my Rinehart's Duel put on.....8 hrs later.....wrong part will order the right ones. I am so pissed I could just Zhit myself !!!!

I doubt you're getting "the treatment"...these dealers know that the CVO's aren't available everywhere, at the time you want to buy, so I don't think they hold against people for buying elsewhere. Besides, they are getting the warranty work, which is money in their pockets. I think it's more a case of incompetent service manager, or more likely, parts guys/gals. I have generally found that is more productive, if you know what's wrong with the bike before you take it in (like the grips), to know the part number yourself, and make sure they order the correct one. Then call them back a few days later to see what the status of the order is....
Having a matter of fact talk, in a nice way (at least initially) with the GM, as mentioned here, would be in order here as well. If you get a bad feeling from him/her, find yourself another dealer. Incompetent people on the parts counter seems to the rule, rather than the exception, from my experience. Buy the parts manual for your bike, at least, and the service manual and supplemental for the SE bike, if you have not already done so. You'll be ahead of the game.
