My story is really lame.

I had a perfectly good black (hard to find color) 2003 RK Anniversary edition - didn’t they only make a 1,000 of them? Just kidding. That bike was really great , ran like a champ and, all the better, that my ex hated it the instant I brought it home.
Fast forward to 2007. At the end of August last year, I got a hair up my arse and decided wouldn’t it be nice if I just bought a new Anniversary edition each five years! So, I did. Well, I never really got used to the color of that Duracell after having the very rare color of black but the bike ran well and the 2nd week I had it I went on a 1500 mile trip from Seattle to Jasper National Park in Canada over labor day weekend. Again, it ran like a top so no complaints. So, earlier this month I brought that bike in for its 5,000 mile service. While I was at the dealer I happened to walk by the CUSE3 sitting on the floor for a ridiculous price. That color really grabbed me. Once again, that hair came back and it was an itch I just had to scratch.
I made my offer (read: if you believe that I have a bridge I’ll sell you) and waited for them to work the numbers on the trade in and work up the sales paperwork and conduct the credit check bla bla. At one point, I’m like “I hope my credit sucks today” so I don’t spend this amount of money but naturally it was meant to be. The sales guy came outside to tell me everything is in order and I’m sure I helped make his quota for the month.

As part of the deal, I had them take the shorty antennas’, leather water bottle pack, my V&H slip-on’s etc., off my other 2008 and put them on the new SE. Oh and I had them transfer the rest of my pre-paid maintenance contract from the Ultra Ann. to the new SE as well.
All and all, I paid a lot of money for a bike that I like. Interestingly, I am still spending money to get it the way I want e.g., new recurve windshield so my eye balls don’t pop out of their sockets, heat deflectors, new headlamp bulbs etc.
