Michael,

It sounds like the interox capacitor has shorted out. I'd take it to the dealer and let them look at it.  Good luck getting it all straightened out.

:indian_chief:

Actually, I have no earthly idea what may be wrong, but I just couldn't help myself. The suggestion to visit the dealer is the best information I can share.

There's a clock?  I've never set mine.  I think it's within the hour to being accurate but time actually stops when I'm riding.  The cool part about it is that I'm never late for anything.....

Forgot to say, I thought about setting it once but I fought it off.......

The raido has to be turned off to set the clock - I guess you've already tried that? Last update ver 8.19

Yep, radio off ignition on and you should see the clock set screen. At least that's how mine works......  :2vrolijk_21:

My interox capacitor shorted out once, and the dealer had to remove the nut from the handlebars as well as the Butthead on the seat to fix it.   :huepfenjump3:

I always say, most operational problems can be traced to a short between two devices and one of them usually turns out to be something to sit on.  ;D

Same problem with setting the clock, also had a problem with CD player going off intermittently.  Dealer did the software upgrade and said everything was fine.  The clock was able to be changed like it should but the CD player still is acting up.  Going to the dealer this weekend and hopefully they will be ordering me a new unit.

Had this same problem back in late 2006.  Took it to the dealer.  Tech pulled the Maxi-Fuse and reinstalled it.  Problem went away.  Been working right ever since.
