If it isn't functional, I don't see the point of cleaning it!

That was exactly my thought too Scott. Had that same discussion with someone here a few weeks ago.
Making the choice away from true duals was for me the hardest part. Have done tduals on bikes for a long time. I like (and am just very very used to) the look. I also look the slighly greater ease of service that goes along with it.
But when the White Brothers E series slip ons went away I lost my true dual torque muffler. Nothing else has proved to be as good. The Rineharts haven't even been close and, for me personally, they're also louder than I prefer.
Once I got past the change, however, than it was as it almost always is for mechanical choices. Wasn't going to add a purely decorative adornment that would would still need to be cleaned, occasionally checked for loose bolts, etc etc etc. It'll probably cost me a chrome pulley with the left side open and more viewable now. But that's ok.
