...oh wait, does that say Harley-Davidson on that air box cover?? Why I think it does...
It's too late, water cooled is coming....

Harley-Davidson engineers worked WITH Porsche engineers, they TESTED the design at the Porsche R & D facility in Germany. Porsche did NOT and does NOT make the Revolution engine, it's made in Kentucky. The reason Harley went to Porsche's R & D facility was because Harley was not about to build a multi million dollar test plant for the development of the motor. Some, maybe most, do not care for it but it is still a Harley-Davidson, they have sold thousands of them and the have helped the company's overall sales and increased the company's market share. The design is proven and dependable. No it is not a Fat Boy or a Road King or a Deuce but it is a Harley-Davidson. The same Americans that build all the other Harley-Davidson motorcycles build water cooled bikes too. The same company that designed the Revolution and the V-Rod designed all the other models.
I think it will be a fair amount of time before we will not be able to buy an oil cooled V-Twin and even after that there are millions of them still out there. I would bet that none of us will live long enough to see a time when the only bikes built are water cooled.
So it's okay, let them build Revo Road Glides or Street Glides or Fat Boys I'm sure they won't replace all the lines at once. The folks at Harley are not stupid they will not throw away this massive marketing and sales niche because the EPA forces them to build cleaner running engines. Harley wants to broaden and maintain it's market not turn away from it. If there are future models coming that are water cooled I'm sure they'll be introduced with caution and intelligent planning.
