Mine has an oil cooler. Just checked the 2001 brochure (thanks Scott) and a cooler wasn't listed and I can't see one in the pictures. Just another bonus I guess.

 

Nope - my 01 SERG did not come with an oil cooler as a stock item.  I added a Wimmer dual tube oil cooler - one mounted to each down tube - interconnecting aeroquip hoses and thermostat.  Reduced oil temperature by about 30 degrees on an average 80 degree day - and looked decent also...

Question for someone more familiar.  This bike has an oil cooler.  A bit of an odd line routing though.  Does not look as neat as it could be.

Hmmmm.   The Hog Tunes are much better than the dinky little Harley speakers that are in it.  And the fairing is going to have to be off right away....

Neal, so what you're saying is only the strokers came with oil coolers, so that's why Don's bike has one?

I have thought it over.
I'm turning around the shocks and sending them back.
Will open the box and add a,
"2000 Harley-Davidson Service Manual Supplement FLTRSEI
Screaming Eagle Road Glide Official Factory Manual"
Part # 99488-00

It's just the supplement catalog for the S/E so you will need to get a regular R/G manual.

 

Chip, those are your shocks.  I promised them spring in the Carolinas.  If they come back to Missouri they're going to be ALL PISSED OFF.  I just couldn't handle pissed off shocks.  So frightening it boggles what little mind I've got.

I got the 2000 parts manual and a 2000 brochure and no oil cooler listed there either.  Just something that had been added over the years.  We did get a bonus.

It was this slightly inelegant line routing that first caught my eye.  It must be a different oil filter housing with input and output nipples sticking out between the filter and the engine case.

Thanks John.  Am certainly looking forward to playing with it a bit.  Can't wait to see what the engine really feels like on something bigger than local surface streets.  Since I've got a 95 now does that mean I'm not an outcast to the purple SERK club now ?

At least I'm not the only one.  Saw the username on a post then looked over to the left and thought "who the hell is that?"  Then saw the location and it clicked.  If he lies about where he lives then I'm screwed too.
