Howie, do you still have any of your old Dorthey Power PACC stuff around? Might be able to adapt the breathers off that.

The stock motor puked with those on there too, so I don't expect it to be better now with them. To the ground with it I say! ;)

I was saying to use some of your old parts to get it plumed to the ground. You might have to mill the back of you A/c plate to get banjo or breathers on the bolts.

My bike's mostly stock right now, but I have clear tubing on my breathers and I only see a small amount or oil and condensation in the tubes after running it pretty hard. I think that strokers, higher compression, and blow-by all add to increased case pressure. Your's might be a little better after your rings completely seat.

Thanks Craig. Yep, doing some type of machining is the only way on this A/C assembly. I spoke to HPI. They understand the issue. And like you said, this is very common on stroker motors, especially high output ones. They're going to look at it, but said that the oil drains into cavities in the back of the backplate. I should be able to seal the breather openings in the throat of the backplate, and install fittings in those cavities for the breather lines. They're checking and calling me back to confirm what the easiest way to do this. Stay tuned for further updates. ;)

Been away from the boards for a bit, so I'm a bit late, but just wanted to add my 'Glad to see you're back on the road, Howie'.

Howie,
I have been gone so long that I didn't even know there were problems.  Sorry to hear but glad you are sunny side up now.  I have been busier than a one legged man in an @$$ kicking contest...things are starting to slow down now and just when the weather starts to get better...coincidence...I think NOT.  With the better weather I may not be on as much as I would like but the one thing that is better than chatting with you knuckleheads is rumbling down the road.

Good luck with this build and God speed to 2.5K

Will do...promise.  I haven't done much to the bike so far but do have a new saddle on order and have finally modded the flippin HID package to fit on my springer.  I have put some LED turn signals front and back but that is just the start.  I showed my wife one of my next purchases...a SE bagger and she said that she wants a new SUV first...I guess I will just keep modding Blue Thunder for a bit.  Much to my dismay I think I am going to add a wind screen going 100+ on the highway feels like I am going to get ripped off the bike...it will be removable for the bar hopping but I am tired of getting the chit beat out of me on the autobahn.  A Zumo is a must also and those minor things will set me back a couple of grand...not chump change for one with a college sophomore and two kids that never stop with their sports programs.  Ice hockey camps in the summer for 2 boys will set me back another couple of grand...bling or food...bling or food...bling or food...I could use a little help here!!! :confused5: :huepfenlol2:

I see you got your hands full seegar! :nixweiss: ;D

Vern went thru the bike yesterday, and changed the oil/filter and mounted the new front tire too. Everything looks good to go so far. Then I'll put on another 500 mellow miles more, and drop the oil again. So far so good! :2vrolijk_21:

Now that Vern's done, the bike gets passed on to Artie. Artie is their "details" guy. He likes to do the tedious stuff like all their wiring, etc. Artie will be installing the HIDs, Zumo, and front amp/speakers. I'm heading over later to drop off all the Zumo and 2Wheel Tunes stuff to get that mounted. I hope I'll get the bike back for the weekend. When the KTP finally shows up, I'll drop it off one last time to get the amp mounted and get the whole KTP wired for detachability! We're almost done with Cybil now. Just in time for this season. When she's done, she'll be the finest Hot Rod Touring Machine around (IMO), and I'll be able to leave her alone for awhile. That's the plan! We all know about plans here though, don't we! ;)

Is that like "keeping it stock for the 2 year warranty?"   :huepfenjump3:

Glad things are going well for you Howie and that the bike is finally right.

It's exactly like that Erinie! ::)

Well, not exactly! Well, actually, FTF & FTW, I wouldn't bring my bike back to the dealers for any work again. So WTF good is the w.....ty! I just made believe the w.....ty was expired and do what I do with all the bikes I've owned outright with no w.....ty on them. You can actually get to work with people that GAS and know what they're doing that way. Saw early on not to waste my time playing the stupid w.....ty game! Absolutely right Don! If I knew then what I know today, there'd be a Jim's 120 or 131 in there right now. But bear in mind, nobody really expected this much grief from these 110's. Hindsight is always 20-20 my brother! ;)

But ultimately, I'm happy with her now, as long as my issues are behind me! :2vrolijk_21:
