I REALLY wish I could...8-10 week delivery, if i order today I will have before I leave for MV on 12 Sep.  The good news is that i can bring enuf shirts to not have to stop at every dealer...

/Bill

The time factor is an issue all its own. Too true.  Finding a used item is just the luck of the draw too.  I got lucky that when I finally decided to get serious there happened to be what became mine just listed about a five hour drive away.  So it was back and forth in a day and the trailer had only ever been pulled twice before that day.

Just in case you've not seen it on Bushtec's website there is a public forum where anyone can discuss products or list them.  Quite a few used trailers commonly mentioned there.  It's an avenue the manufacturer obviously supports because they not only allow it continue there but Preston himself contributes with some regularity.

Those wheels are frighteningly expensive.  I asked Bushtec about them before their price increase.  Even then I wasn't buying.  My stockers are getting powder coated sometime this summer.  $160.00 at a local shop plus the cost of a new set of bearings.  I can live with that easier.

I just faxed my life away...I wonder if I should get a replacement side cover badge (whatever number i have) that mysteriously could disappear...and appear on the trailer...

Seems only prudent.  And congrats on getting the rig ordered.

When it's done are they shipping or are you coming down after it and the hitch installation?

Then keep a close eye on the efforts of whomever installs the hitch and harness.  I ended up not using the isolator they'll provide you.  It proved to be failure prone in my case and was solution to a problem that wasn't there anyway; especially with all LEDs in the trailer.  But with the harness and isolator all going in the installer could create quite a spaghetti mess if they're not doing a careful job.  You've got even less room on the 08 than was available on the prior models for all that to lay around there too.  So it's even more important that they be careful and tidy.

Sounds like the safest possible choice.  Give a ring sometime if you're thinking about using the isolator or not.  I had one DOA and one fail about a month in.

Congrats Bill & Anne - you'll really enjoy the trailer.  And yes it is expensive but I doubt you'll regret the color match - I know I don't.

Don, certainly not meaning to downplay your experience but it is strange that I've used the isolators on 3 bikes over 9 years and never had any problem.  Wonder what the difference is.   :confused5:

Don't know Jerry.  Since mine were at the same time could have been a group production issue.  Just know that they crapped out.  Strictly in the "FWIW" category at the time two others here described also having had some difficulty with them.

Final install on mine has each leg very lightly fused right behind the interconnect coupler and LEDs throughout the trailer.  So very light loads.  In fact less than many accessory lights that get hung on the bikes themselves (and of course never have an isolator on them).  So it's an install I'm comfortable with.  And less pieces added are less pieces to fail.

I'm with you on that.  Since I've converted to all LEDs might be an option to look at.  With the regular IC bulbs I'd definitley want the isolator.

Don't be too sure about that, you better start negotiating for space now while you have a chance. ;) Doc

When we got our trailer, I decided not to use their isolator. I changed out all of the bulbs on the bike and trailer with LED and after 3,000 miles, no problems.

I made my own break-out harness to plug inline before the Kury module I'm running. No isolator and no extra fuses, just the factory wiring and the new breakout.
