Thunderstar full chrome rotors should be here in about 3 weeks.

2 things, BLM . . .

First, this:  [smiley=beerchug.gif] for confirming to me you don't miss a thing . . .

Followed closely by this:   [smiley=worthless.gif] for when you get the rotors installed.

Very scary, Brian.....there you go reading my mind.  Thunderstar full chrome rotors should be here in about 3 weeks.  Don't think anyone but me would notice the difference, but you know how that goes.

Some of us noticed, we're just not that anal  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] .

Speaking of anal retentives however.  A buddy of mine around here really is.  And he loves the rotors you're going to be removing.  Don't know why, he just does  [smiley=nixweiss.gif] .

I'm going to be gone for most of a week starting tomorrow.  If you know what you'll want for the take offs drop a note back and I'll try to get him to buy them for you when I get home.

Thanks for thinking of me 2Lane on the take off rotors, but 'er ah, umm, they are going to be "defective replacements" so they have to go back to HD when the new ones arrive.   Can hear you chuckling from here....

Oh, that's a much better plan than having to screw with selling them yourself.  You have such a good shop.  I'm so jealous  [smiley=6.gif]

No hoop's at all.  If the rims are bad, the shop orders out replacements, returns the warranty claim with the current wheels marked on the defective area and is credited with their cost for the wheels.  In that same light Doc...there really shouldn't be any hassle exchanging for a different wheel as it makes no difference to anyone what is on your bike.  As I mentioned, the cost of the wheels that were sent in as a warranty item is simply credited to the dealer on their monthly parts invoice.  In the case of the detonators, they are the most expensive wheel that HD sells by a few bucks.  Therefore, there is no downside to the dealer.

THANK YOU BLM.  That was exactly what I was waiting to hear.  I wonder if they would actually go with throwing in the rotors, as the T'stars and new rotors would actually equal the cost of the Dets.......hmmmm

Doc.....don't know what dealership you're working with, but Rockford HD has always had the rep of being a great shop.  Good luck.

Glad it worked  out....if this set peels or flakes, you may want to change style.  I went through 3 changes on the Detonators.  No grief on the replacements, just the hassle of taking the time to change them out.  (Not an altogether bad deal though, as I always use that opportunity to change tires...labor compliments of HD)

This thread has me wishing my wheels would peel again soon so I could get the mirror Thunderstars.  The front one was junk when the bike was delivered and got replaced right away.  No problems with the replacement or the rear wheel, but the bike will be two years old in less than three months.  I hope they don't wait until after that to start going to pot.
