So there you have it across the nation in 1 hour of research. I am not sure if all of these are still for sale as of July 22, 2008 but they were listed as for sale. There are a total of 25 bikes for sale just through Cycle Trader.....As one can see prices are all over the board....I would say based off of this information that one could find any of these models between $10,000 - $12,000 with few miles on them.....but you have to find a motivated Seller which has a good bike....There is a Tangerine bike sitting at a dealer for $13,995 with only 360 miles on it....at least the dealer isn't at $17,000.
I think these bikes will probably settle in around $9,000 when it's all done....you see 1993 and 1994 versions going for around $6,500.00 to $7,000.00 but does anyone know for sure.....
The biggest question is this....is HD making a better performing frame than an FXR framed bike?

That's really the question....I mean the debate here should be why would someone go into the dealership and pay $15,000 for a new Dyna modeled bike when one can get an FXR framed bike in the form of a 1999 or 2000 FXR2 FXR3 or FXR4???
As that "gap" spreads between new and used that's how the previously owned FXR bike will retain it's value....and if that's going to happen it's going to require all of us who own them to make sure others are aware of their value and enjoyment in being ridden....I have owned an 2003 Dyna Low Rider....I know what it rides like....I sold it last year...the FXR2 @ least for me is a completely different and more intriguing ride....and I am not trying to "blast" dyna owners at all...or make any ill will...they are simply different types of rides....the FXR framed bike is hands down a light weight "touring" framed bike that handles anything you want to throw at it ie: mountain curves, highway touring, or city manuverability as a tremendously fun and comfortable ride....it probably has to be as comfortable for anyone under 5' 11" tall as riding a touring framed bike would be....and I own one of those as well....I have been reading where more and more riders who are getting older into their later 60's are trading in their touring framed bikes for the lighter framed FXR to do their touring with....also the question would be why should any woman automatically think that a Sportster is her only choice when the FXR is lower and easier to handle than Sportster model....as you can see it's up to all of us FXR owners to keep people aware of it's benefits.....
Regards,
Tim
p.s. :
well that was a bit wierd I tried to post this message and when I did I was sent to an "update" page for "UPDATING FOR 2009" asking for me to update via my screen name and password?
?? I don't want to take away from this thread but anyone else have this happen....I don't want to create an entire conversation on the topic but it was a bit wierd.
