Do you have nuts on your crank? ;D

:indian_chief:

I think the nuts are an option to be used with the crank.

Have any of noticed that under the seat on the frame rail on the left hand side that there is a time dated stamp. Would that help anyone with their production date?

That will only tell you when the frame was made, not when the bike was assembled, which is the important date. There's also one on the ECM tray.

I'd still like to know why it's being changed. I haven't heard of many coming loose like the 103's were. :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

I know you sometimes lose your nuts at your exhaust port, but we've never been treated to any info about d00d's crank nuts. :o

:indian_chief:
And you want to know?? :shocked2: That's something even I don't want to know about much less experience. :nervous:

BD,

I can't tell if you're just playing in on the joke, or serious. Can you elaborate? What do you mean they are an option? :nixweiss:

It all depends on who is messing w/them and how they are messing w/them. For instance.....

Damn if I'd complain about them. :D

Just checked my 07 SEUC on HD.com. It shows

Product Notice: 0905: PRD PGM: 07/08 CVO 110 HEADS

Not sure what this means, I just had the gaskets replaced, valve guide seals, cylinders honed and new rings installed. Work was completed three weeks ago. Will I need to take her in again? I assume that Harley posted this campain to my vin number because additional work is needed? Will call the dealership Tuesday to find out. Getting ready for a long trip, I will have the work done when I return.

Scott, I would guess that the 07/08 CVO 110 Heads is a reference to the valve guides, ACR's, and gasket leaks all rolled into one.  The PRD PGM would most likely be for a voluntary "Product Program" or "Quality Upgrade", as opposed to a mandatory Safety Recall.  I would also guess that everyone with a CVO 110 built before the cutoff date in April will find this same program listed under their VIN.  If your dealer didn't do the updated ACR's and valve guides, you will most likely want to get those taken care of at your convenience.

I haven’t had the time to keep updated on everything going on around here lately, and I sure this has all been covered before.  When I just entered my VIN in the service check-up on the HD site it came up with this, are they just replacing the notorious head gaskets that so many of you have had problems with?

Thanks

Gregg

There are one or more open safety recalls or product improvement campaigns on your vehicle. The following list contains the campaign number and a brief description:

Chuck,
I'm a little concerned about your "nut-less" crank.  I'm not sure I want an HD tech touching my crank to replace my nuts, but I've got two nuts resting just below my crank right now, and they appear to be just fine.  You better check again.  ;) ::) :P
