That is why I put that in the poll. With most of the bikes getting no heads and maybe not even all the ultras I have my doubts about the fix. I guess time will tell.

Sounds like another round of Guinea Pig, knowing that most peoples factory warranty will be ending or are in the process of ending here in the near future.

Nope I sure didn't and guess what?? I still don't know for sure!!!! I guess when the letters start to arrive and the services start to get done then we will know for sure what if any thing is really going to get done and how!

I went by Rt 66 Harley in Tulsa yesterday.  The service dept. manager said that the work will only be done on bikes having problems....... I really don't think he knew what he was talking about.

And this surprises you how?  I'll guarantee you that the miscommunication and ticked off customers will be every bit as bad as normal.  You didn't really think H-D would make the effort to ensure all their dealers fully understood the program ahead of time, did you?  Like maybe have zone meetings where the service reps explain the whole thing in detail to a gathering of all the service managers. 

Like usual, it is best if you walk in with copies of all the bulletins and letters so you can head off any BS right from the git-go.

You are exactly right... Take a copy of the paperwork with you when you go to the dealer.  As usual, we will have to educate the dealers.  "Knowledge is Power" 
And, right again - the dealers will make lots of folks mad just because they don't have a clue about what they are supposed to be doing.

Suprisingly, I got a call from the service writer that I deal with on Sat.  She wanted to inform me there was "recall", her words, out for the heads on my bike.  She said she had authorization to get them ordered and would give me a call when they came in.  I acted like I did not know anything about it.  I told her I wanted to wait until I got back from the 105th to do the work.  She said they would be here waiting on me.  this is the first time this dealership has been proactive, if that is what you want to call it. She did not say anything about the base gasket or head gaskets.

I have about 7000 miles on it since the last fix and have had no problems of any kind realtive to the leakage of oil.  I am almost reluctant to let them go back in there.  Fotunately, the tech that will do the work is the same one that did the work last time, when they put pistons, jugs, etc.

I am going to lobby for the rocker boxes, even though, supposedly, mine have been clearanced.  If I have to pay for them, I will.  $83 each from Chicago HD.  I am tired of the noise.

It will be interesting to hear from folks who have the rocker boxes installed to see if the majority, if not all, of the noise is gone.

I went to the dealer read the bulltin they just received ,all top end gaskets some clamp and acr parts and that was it!!!!
