Welcome to the site, srqseeg.  As you already found out, lots of good info here.  What modifications did you make?

Welcome srqseeg,  How can you lurk for 4 months?  But since you have, and have finally felt compelled to reveal yourself, don't go away. Stay and add your own input. It is all good information.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

welcome aboard srqseeg!  But, comparing the ride of your stock SEEG to a lumber truck?  Now, compared to a hardtail kucklehead or even a lower softtail, I think it rides like a Caddie (well, maybe a 'slammed' caddie).  Good to have you 'active' [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Thanks for the welcome gang.  Did not think I would be drawn to this site as much as I eventually was.  Great discussions and quality folks.

Modifications made-

Seat--Replaced the stock seat in Daytona during Biketoberfest with a Mustang seat from Millers.  Could not stand another mile with that piece of junk.  Miller's shipped the seat back and I had a local upholstery shop add some padding.  During the modification they found what they called "mystery foam" in the middle of the seat which resembled a piece of wood.  Very odd and uncomfortable.  Very happy with the swap--have not had the inclination to put the stock seat back on.

Exhaust--Wanted some sound and better performance so went with Rineharts (I know, following the crowd) and very happy with the switch.

Front Suspension--Went from bow wave when shifting (dealer even added some fork oil to no avail) to "bottoming out" when hitting a 1 inch high bump when SE fork oil was added.  MoCo went with the "less expensive" springs to lower the bike.  Wanted progressive springs in front but the dealership managed to screw this up and I eventually settled on the cartridge system--great ride up front now.

Rear Suspension--Went with the Progressive heavy duty 12.5 inch 440s.  What a difference!  Super ride now.  The air shocks were terrible.  The wife was not happy (nor was I)!  No more lumber truck ride.  Yippee.  Should not have to spent that kind of money on a new bike (same goes for the front suspension) to get a decent ride.  Oh well.

Engine Performance--Could not believe a Screamin' Eagle bike did not have a Screamin' Eagle high flow air cleaner.  Replaced the stock air cleaner and with the exhaust swap out, went with the Harley race tuner.  Delighted with the different in performance.  Pulled by 102 horses now.

Again, thanks for the welcome!  Also, thanks to the folks who started and maintain this site.  Very nice!

Spydglide--Was coming off of a 1996 Wide Glide to the SEEG.  The difference in ride quality was incredible.  The SEEG (off the dealer's showroom) was absolutely the worst ride I've ever had.  These first 4,000 miles were downright painful.  After the Wide Glide I was looking forward to riding a Harley with air shocks as I had heard many good comments about them.  Some folks seem to like them here.  Wonder if the quality of the air shocks, for whatever reason, is varying greatly from set to set due to poor quality standards by the supplier.  It may just be that we all appreciate differing riding characteristics.  Either way, it's beyond my feeble mind to explain it.

I know.  They all ride different, but you do expect a geezer-glide to ride like a clowd.  I still can't believe I'm on the electra glide, never thought it would come to this, but what a electra glide!  now you've got style AND comfort.  Glad you were able to make the right mods to make it into the bike you were wanting/expecting. Ain't it grand????? [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

spydglide-We are very happy with the SEEG now.  Wallet is a bit lighter, but also spent a bundle on the wide glide.  At least the money is going to a good cause!

Do miss the glide at times though.  However, one positive is fewer bugs in the teeth.  Brighter smile, but less protein in the diet. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Hi srqseeg,  Re the SEEG vs WG,  Rode today, not the warmest day in VA, didn't think too much of it, and when talking to friends, they pointed out that they don't have windshields or fairings. Fairings are new to me, and you know I rode today with boots, leather coat, jeans gloves and helmet.  I have heated grips so that gave me that warm all over feeling from the hands and I guess behind all those fairlings I did not get the blast others were bundling up for.  This is new to me too, and I like it. Oh I like it.  Welcome to the family, you are already hooked.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Mrs.WeCVO-
Sounds like you had a great ride today.  Having a fairing is new to me as well.  May be a bit warm this Summer in Florida though.  The fairing sure is nice in the Winter!

We love the SEEG now that we have had the modifications to the suspension done.  A bit too late as our riding has been limited since Mrs. srqseeg messed up her back when we encountered a construction area on I-75 outside of Tampa and hit unavoidable 1.5 inch ledges at about 6 bridges prior to having the suspension work done.  She's one hurting puppy right now and cannot ride.  Probably why I was not too happy with the SEEG (as manufactured).  Great bike now, just a bit late.  All will be fine soon and we will be able to enjoy the nice riding weather down here.
