Update: HD was unable to get my inner fairing, saddle bag lid, and lower right fairing to me in an acceptable time so I decided to take the damaged parts along with a new unpainted inner fairing to a custom painter in Wisconsin. This painter has done custom and stock paint work for the MOCO on several occasions and they guaranteed me that I would be satisfied with their work. I cannot believe how perfect the pieces look. The metal flake is uniform and looks identical to the original pieces. In addition, they use a higher quality german supplied clear coat that is supposed to hold up better to road debris and rock chips. My dealer was forced to give me a store credit since I had them cancel the parts which are still on backorder thru November, 2008 (Ordered August 4th,2008) and IMO is totally unacceptable. In addition, this painter was able to fix my batwing fairng and it looks absolutely perfect. If anyone wants incredible paintwork at a reasonable price feel free to contact this painter thru this link http://www.cpvehicles.com/news.php. I finally have my bike back and it looks great. I am still waiting for my lower fairings which I will have next week. After that the bike will be 100% fixed and back to original condition.

Congrats on getting the bike back together CO.  That sometimes almost unbelievable delay for painted parts is almost impossibly hard on a guy waiting to get riding again.  They need a more responsive system.  Perhaps pushing the customers to outside vendors is what they'd prefer than dealing with old single-job paint orders.  In any case it's great to read you're happy, done and actually found a great/reasonable painter for future use if need be.

Glad you're back together. Incredible to have to wait soooo long. Glad you found a painter to do it right. Followed the link, looks like excellent work out of that shop.

Yes, it is flawless IMO. I am very very very picky about paint finishes and it takes alot to impress me. They get a big thumbs up !!!

Probably have to retool to paint your set.  Seems retooling tends to drive up costs, so they'll wait until they get enough orders of one color set before prepping and doing the job.
