Also, all conferences should be limited to a total of 10 teams. This inner conference playoff BS is a bunch of BS for $$. 10 teams per conference - play all 9 opponents & no playoff for conference title.
I agree but that's not what's happening. Witness the expansion of the ACC, SEC, Big Ten (11 teams

) and Big Twelve (Big Eight+4) conferences, the demise of the once-mighty Southwest Conference, and the ongoing fight for relevance of the Big East and Conference USA, not to mention the WAC, MWC, and other non-BCS D1A conferences, Again, it's all about money and the BCS and the NCAA have a lot of it at stake. They're not likely to back off. The schools that enjoy major conference affiliation like it ($$$) too, and want the gravy train to continue.
It's been rumoured for years that the SEC will again expand, taking in West Virginia in the Eastern Division and one of the Texas schools (UT, or A&M most likely) in the Western Division. This would cause a domino effect of impact felt among other conferences.
Nope, contrary to yours (and mine) thinking, the BCS envisions fewer "Superconferences" of many members and divisions. More money to be made with conference championship games.
