The black does seem to just roll from the front fender along the tank to the side covers and saddlebags.  Nice choice :2vrolijk_21: .

Thanks!  And the color is a dead on match.  No doubt the H-D design team meant it to be this way.  The other SERG's have custom matched lowers.  O/B is the only one that doesn't.  If the MoCo designers thought orange would look better they would certainly sell it.  They are not going to walk away from a buck.  The design just called for a stock base black accent color.  Good news though.  The standard vivid black is $200 less expensive than the ones that have the CVO colors.

I have a friend who works in the paint dept. at a auto manufacturer here in TN and he took my side covers and "shot" them and has the match ready, less ghost flames, to spray lowers and tp. the lowers should be taken off when above 50 degrees

Here's a pic of my bike with the vivid black lowers.  I thought about orange, but the more I though about it vivid black is probably the best for the O/B bikes.  The bottom half of the tank, the fender, saddlebags, etc. is vivid black.  Black lowers balance the bike out.  They will also be easier to touch up if they get chipped.  You can get the vivid black paint anywhere.  Orange would have to be custom matched.  MoCo does not sell the CVO paint or disclose the color mix.

That looks good. Might be too much orange if the lowers were orange. Matches well. THE MUFFMAN

My seats and backrest are H-D.  They sell one that is specific for the SERG bikes.

Jim,
The orginal 00 O/B SERG came with vivid black lowers and this year's SERG takes many of it's design cues from that 00. I would have recommended to anyone with a O/B or Y/B 09 to go with the vivid black sight unseen and your photo certainly proves my opinion correct. While I like the 09 SERG sans lowers, they certainly don't detract from the looks of the bike.

The chopped tour pack is available in 09 CVO road glide colors.  The king tour pack is not from what I have been able to see.

Agree the black lowers look good and the chopped orange does as well. Still working toward an orange king t.p. but MoCo won't be any help there. It's kind of a quest at this point.

My yellow bike is gray on the bottom. The black dosn't look good on it. I'm looking for someone to paint my King Tour Pac (yellow)& a set of lowers(gray).
I'm in So.Cal. so if there are any tips on who could paint them, let me know.

I have the shoe-size 12,5 ( US ) .
Do think the lower fairings rob the space for your front of the feets ?
Especially when the foot is inside and then moving outside to the highwaypegs ?

A typical riding position would keep you feet well outside of the lowers.  They are mounted inside of the engine roll bar in front of the foot controls.  They are designed to deflect wind from the riders leg, not surround the riders leg.  The only obstruction I can think of is if you were shifting down or putting on the break and then move your feet directly to the pegs.  Your toe may hit the lower in this situation.  In normal riding, however, you feet would move from the floorboards to the pegs.  You'd hit the break peddle or shifter before hitting the lower.

OK ,
that means that the lower fairings do not come nearer to the shoe as the engine guard does ?
The fairings are in every detail in front of the guard ( on the bottom ) ?
