Radar detector
« on: August 16, 2005, 05:44:33 PM »

Anyone using the HD brand by Escort, they had to replace the clutch line today so I had them slap one on. I like to run above eighty on the big roads, so if it saves me one time its worth the greenbacks.

Yup...I have one that I installed.  Works well in my opinion.  Saved me twice that I know of.  I like the escort detectors and this uses the escort foundation.  With hogtunes playin' at 90 it can be tough to hear the tones though so use it wisely.

I would do it again.

In the past I used radar detectors. I still kept getting $ 250.00 speeding tickets. Now I really cant afford to speed even though I like to go fast.

One of the guys I ride l with has a Escort detector and it works well.  He rides a Road Glide and there seems to be eoough room to mount it near the windshield.  I tried to figure a way to put one on my Electra Glide but couldnt find a good spot to mount it.

There is Blue Tooth technology coming.  Check out http://www.k40.com/cali_main.html .  They have it for cars.  I wrote them a note to see if they have any experience on Harleys.  If I get a reply I will post it on this BB.

Wonder how it would be to have one of these nifty babies hard mounted in the temp.gauge hole while passing thru Virginia (where it's illigal to own, have in your possession a radar detector)????   I guess you could make a little fake cut out of a temp gauge that you could stick on over it while in Virginny.  I'd love to have one of these if they work good, anyone know anymore about them?  :-/  spyder

JC, this is my 3rd or 4th attempt at answering this thread's question...something must be wrong w/ my computer......but, in case this goes thru....the long and short of it is that Virginia is tough on possession of Radar Detectors......maybe some of the Virginians could comment.   [smiley=nervous.gif] spyder
