UPDATE*****

I talked to Joe yesterday, said they recieved my returned windshield and it was infact molded wrong. He said it was due to "spring back" in the lexan. He said they put it back in the mold and reformed it. He had just got done looking at it and said it was within 1 - 3 mm from being perfect, but that it was unnoticeable and looked symetrical. He was sending it out yesterday morning, and I may have it today. I'm a little concerned about the remold process, but, I'll give them the benefit until I see it.
I'll post pics and an update when it arrives....
Joe, Called me today with a similar report, Mine wont be back for a week, looking forward to your evaluation.

Put on 180 miles yesterday on my CB 14" so far so good, but I used my 3/4 helmet, today I will use my beanie and re-evaluate. No rattle or shake , line of sight is great, I look over it

How about the color for riding after dark
« Reply #138 on: March 07, 2009, 11:41:06 PM »

I was wondering.  I would prefer the dark grey shield but it's been suggested to me that it is too dark for riding after dark. What does everyone think?  I usually look over the shield and think the dark grey looks better but maybe I should get the light grey instead.  Has anyone compared them?

Well the testing is over, and Cee Bailey's faired no better that the KW. lot's of buffeting, at 70mph I could NOT hear my radio or my pipes.
So to me, all this time spent waiting was a waist. Time to call John at CV

This is really disappointing to hear and I don't even have the re-make back to me.  So what are you thoughts on this next one?  I'm not familiar with this one at all.

I will talk with Clearview tomorrow, already did this last week. Planning is the precursor to doing.
I'm going to ride this afternoon at a lower speed and see where the sweet, if there is, spot.
This morning as I was cleaning, I noticed that the screws for the CB are fading light. I would have to replace these soon anyhow.

Now I don't know what I want to do.  At least I haven't ordered one yet but I'm not sure what I want to order either.  Maybe some more will chime in here about their Clearview's or CB's.

I really had high hopes for the Cee Bailey's 14". I am surprised I never asked for results of the company tests of the performance or effectiveness of their product. Why is it products are injected into the market place and left for buyers to judge at their expense. We seem to be engineering our own shields by chance. It,s getting to be like a bad day at the casino. Maybe we will get lucky. Anybody got another $200 for a spin at the wheel!  :huepfenjump3:

Won't help much if the sweet spot is at 50 mph and your hitting the turnpike for a 400 mi run, It would be a real pain changing windshields every time you went for an extended ride. My Clearview tall recurve worked great but I had to look through it, I think the Hype about having to look over the shield clouded my judgement, I sold it when I ordered the CB.

Interesting comments on all the wind!  Makes me wonder if I should have stayed with the Ultra style....never was really bothered about a little wind buffeting.  I do have a CB 13" coming.  And, who in the heck listens to the radio on a Harley, for crying out loud!  Buy a GoldWing!  But, I've been told that I will like the ride, stability, etc of a Road Glide over an Ultra.  So, what the eff? :confused5:
