That bike looks GREAT! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Thats what I'm waiting for and what I have been working towards since this whole saga began.  Bagger, DON'T GIVE UP!

We are all in the same boat and need every oarsman!

I truly believe they will make this good.  Like you, I am a Harley guy and don't want to be anything else.  Can't even imagine my big ole' butt on some jap stuff... [smiley=stare.gif]

Now THIS is how it should be.  Congrats Twincam!  Glad you were able to get your stuff fixed.

Mr. HD Area Rep:  I hope you see this!  The MOCO squared away this Great American.  Time to pony up and fix everyone else's paint problem................Your boss will hear from me tomorrow.  I have ALL day.

Bagger... bypass the area rep ... the rep for my area denied my claim. (seemed liked this was SOP - Standard Operating Procedure) I went straight to the MOCO customer service for my paint issue. I had to stay on top of them but finally got them to approve my claim. Pictures tell the story and are extremely hard to refute. When dealing with customer service be respectful and courteous but firm.
I think some area reps deny claims so they look good on their end of month activity reports to the MOCO. If I ever get to meet the rep for my area you can be sure he will come to understand my passion for my scoot!  ;)

Just got off the phone with the area rep's boss.  He's supporting and standing behind his area rep.  He says he has to do that because his area rep is his eyes and ears.  Customer Service will not discuss my file with me any longer.  I will tell you that if I am anymore respectful and courteous, it will be construed as a sexual favor.  I've said "Sir" more in the past 24 hours than I did during my entire 22 year military career.......(I already know what the acronym "SOP" means  :) ).  Not sure what to do next...........but I'll think of sumpthin'.

Might just be time to seek some legal counsel. It would seem to me w/a good lawyer, and all the pictures of the bad paint that has been replaced in this thread alone that the MoCo would not have a leg to stand on. How can they replace one set of tins that are similar to yours (in defects), and then turn around and say that yours are fine? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Have you spoken with Bob (Rusty ) Dwyer. Dial 414-343-4056 (4,4,3 for paint)? He's the supervisor there. If he shut you down I'd be asking for his bosses name. Since your dealer still sees the paint difference ask him what he'd do if it was HIS bike? Will he call and speak directly with Rusty on your behalf? Maybe you've been too respectful to the people who have refused to help you resolve this issue.... this is unacceptable treatment at the hands of the MOCO's representatives.  >:(

I would try and get ahold of john selinski,  he is aware of the problems with the paint.  Find it hard to believe they are still dening claims when they know its an issue.  Sounds like another way to save money.

Bagger... whew!  :o Allot of drama there in your posts.  [smiley=soapbox.gif] Makes for good reading, but I really think a cooler thought process might help you out.

Those who have been following this issue know it is not an issue with ALL '06 SEUCs and is often difficult to see it. Harley didn't see it, the dealers didn't see it, and purchasers didn't see it. From the time the pieces are painted until the retail sale, the bikes rarely see daylight... going from building to building by truck and by box. Ultimately some owners did notice as they began cleaning and waxing their bikes and getting them in bright sunlight. The picture you posted is one taken in bright direct sunlight. My point is, you mentioned more than once the inspection was done on an overcast day and that was probably the wrong thing. The first step in dealing with a customer's concern is to verify the condition exists and if the rep couldn't see it, he would've been wrong to authorize replacement just because you say so.

I recall there were instances early on where confirmation of the condition WAS difficult. Even by dealers, and often factory reps were asked to make inspections. Some paint was buffed with good results, some not so good. Some parts were replaced and looked better, some didn't. I recall a post where all the painted parts from one bike were sent to H-D for inspection. Eventually they were able to identify the condition, the cause, and the cure.

Instead of insinuating threats like: "I know who you are. I know your name. I have your phone number.  >:( I could display your name and phone number for all to see." why not ask for another inspection? But agree that it be done under the conditions that would best suit your claim... SUNLIGHT.  8-) Maybe also request the dealership owner, GM & service manager take part.

If you guys still can't agree, ask the dealer to submit forms for a PRB hearing and maybe even offer to send in some of the parts you think have the problem.

Hope things work out.

Hey hawgdoc, shouldn't the digitals as seen here be good enough, I mean it is a $ 32,000  bike with a supposed custom paint job!!! :-/ [smiley=confused5.gif] It would take a blind man not to see the differance in the right and left bag and the lids compared to the bag. hd knows there is a problem they need to correct it, being a cvo owner with a former jacked up paint job I know about it, surley the good folks who made this bike, who have had numerus complants about these paint jobs, who have accnoledged this defect know about it. bagger just wants what he deserves for he's money. ps I can't spell either but everyone gets the point. ;D

Hawgdoc,
Agreed.  The whole point of bringing out the "overcast day" was to illustrate the bike was not inspected in the same conditions in which the problem is noticeable.  Actually, the bike was inspected in the midst of other bikes parked around it with 60Hz flourescent lights as the only light source.
Not sure how you perceived threats from my written words.  I'm probably the lowest threat there is, and I've always thought I was quite respectable........but you are certainly entitled to your own interpretation of everything.  Thanks.  I very much appreciate your advice.
--BREAK--

Good News!  Shortly after I finished speaking with the area rep's boss in Milwaukee, my wife called me and said the area rep had called and left a message stating he wants to speak with me.  I called him, and was directed to voice mail.  He returned my call on my cellular phone.  He told me that after much thought about our our conversations the day prior, he would like to examine the bike under the same conditions in which I notice the problem; direct sunlight.  He said he is not agreeing to change his decision, but he is agreeing to give my bike a relook, which is all I'm asking.  We agreed to meet at a mutually convenient location and time for him to relook my bike.  When?  Not sure yet, but I'm very confident that he is a man of his word.  I'll keep you posted.
