Ok you guys convinced me that waiting till May for the Black/Slate is not worth the hassle. I changed my order today and will pick up an Autumn Haze the end of this month (March). [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]  This sure beats waiting till May for my Black/Slate only to find out that I would have to join in on a class action law-suit. I'm really sorry to hear of all the paint problems you guys are having and hope they take care of you all. Thanks for the many head's up.
If anyone still wants to take delivery of a Black/Slate in May, PM me a $1,000 refundable deposit with the local dealer will hold it for you.

SanJoseDuke

The Haze is a beautiful color combo. Saw it on Brets bike. I know you'll like it.

Rumor has it that the MOCO is going to replace all the F**ked up Crimson/Charcoal paint with Haze anyway since their paint dept has their head up in dark stinky places and no one at HD can make a decision on this issue. (I'm starting the rumor  ;))

I don't blame you for switching to Haze. Enjoy!

WAIT !  That was frigging brilliant.  All you 06 owners just got the advertising slogan and graphic you need to represent your problem and band together behind.

Well the Red is the Cherry, the Yellow the Bananna, the Green is the Watermelon so I guess we now have found a name for the BLACK     the Milk Shake.....

If anyone is intrested Denny's in Springfield, MO.  had a Black on there showroom that was not spoken for 1,000.00 over MSRP I guess you have to pay extra for the BAD PAINT.

I thought I posted this yesterday, but guess not, Newest Update from Dealership. Service Told me that the MoCo rep said to go ahead and order me new parts, but wait 60 days , by then they will have fixed the paint problem......

Sounds like great news?, Huh?, heres the catch, he said that the parts that are being ordered and changed out on my bike are only, the Lids and Inner fairing

I dont get this, The verdict from MoCo warranty dept. was that the paint on the striped parts were the problem. Im hoping that the service guy just misunderstood. I explained that to him, and he said he'd call the Rep and verify.

Looks like the solution is to "milk up" (read F up) the lids to match the f'd up lowers.

It's the lid color that looks great.  Figures they'd figure a way to avoid doing it right and re-doing all of the major components.

If that's the solution I'll ride the POS and point it out to everyone I see that is considering laying out an extra $10k for a "custom Harley CVO" which I have owned 3 of and still have 2 of.  It will possibly be my last CVO, you'd think you could get some consideration after having purchased 13 plus bikes "NEW" from the MoCo.

Oh well, it's all about the bottom line and the stock price now.  Good job Willie, where's AMF when you need them?  Oh never mind, this is how I was treated when it was AMF in the 70's.

Rob, Im hoping that the message that was relayed to me, was just in error, and its the Striped parts that are being swapped out. ...At least, sounds like they are trying to do something, or have made a decision to fix the problem, thats better than being blown off about it. , and beside's, Im starting to really enjoy getting masterbated by MoCo all the time.....I only hope, that I dont go blind like our mothers told us would happen if we did that too much.

Yet another really apt comparison.  First it's "Got Milk" and then this.  You guys are coming up with advertising zingers all over the place now.  I'm just not sure (yet) how to incorporate the comparison in to an ad......

Something like:

Two gettings setting at a picnic table in front of some dusty walk-up hamburger stand on an old beat up looking highway.  Parked just beside the table, viewed over the bags of burgers and sited between the obvious riders are a new Goldwing and a new CVO Ultra.  The Goldwing rider just finishes describing how his new bike is almost like great sex with a beautiful woman.  The shot slowly zooms in on the saddlebag of the Ultra then pans back to back of the Harley rider and his "Got Milk" tshirt (described above) as the audio then fades back from road music to him saying "you got great sex and Harley just keeps giving me a hand job."  Then the kickstand collapses, the Harley falls over and the commercial fades to black as the music comes back up.

Twolane, you forgot, it can't fade to black, it must fade to a "milky gray" or Crimson.

You're right.  It's all in the details.  It should definitely fade in to the saddlebag and an ugly milky chocolatey-gray color as the volume on Fleetwood Mac doing "if you don't love me know, you will never love me again" is amped up.  Then again, HD suffers from so much hubris that even that verse wouldn't clue them in that guys are getting so dissatisfied at being given a twenty dollar back-alley hand job instead of a $30k bike that they're ready to buy something else.
