Well people, it looks like I'll be trading in my '08 SERK on a new O/B '09 SERG. I've made an offer and he wants to get my business away from another near by dealership. I'm sure we'll deal, just a matter of what price.
I've found in showing pictures to people that the SERG is a love it or hate it bike. My wife is not crazy about the Electric Orange and Vivid Black and would rather me get a Silver/Grey one. If it were the Silver/Grey I would get it, but right now in our area finding any one of the colors is a lucky chance. The SERG is a knock out in my book and the Orange/Black is my favorite anyway, so that's what I'm getting.
I hope I can convince the wife that it's worth trading in my perfectly great '08 SERK Annie with 7,600 miles on it for a one year newer bike. She doesn't get the frame upgrades and doesn't understand that stuff. At least I'll get my tunes now while riding. I now have 18401 songs on my iPod so I'll be hooking that bad boy up very soon.
Hopefully I'll have as good luck with the new one as I did the SERK, no oil leaks at all. I'm making the deal to include the color matching chopped tour-pak with all the mounting kits. I'm also having them include the rear passenger running board inserts in the Rumble collection. I'm saving all my rear passenger adjustable running board assembly off the SERK that I paid lots for. Other than that I think I'll do the baffles, kill the CAT and a PCMIII and just move on with the great riding.
Next will be a true windshield. I sit in the saddle as though I was about 6'-2" to 6'-3" so right now it looks like a CeeBailey at about 15" will do the trick. I know that there are several threads on the windshield subject, but any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
I'll post pictures as soon as I get it home, probably on Sunday, as Saturday will be my first riding day on the new ride.
Later dudes and dudettes.
