Was just on the Custom Dynamics site looking around...I hadn't noticed these previously, but it seems like a good idea to me...with the smoked lenses in our turn signals, this has a red center LED array so that the turn signals become running/brake lights, but still allows the amber outer ring to  function as the turn signal which is more visible and recognized as a turn...this in combination with a strobe/solid module for the brakes seems like a pretty simple solution.

Hi TcnBham,
I agree with you about the "light barges" and "over accessorized"  bikes. I was just refering to the fact that in some areas we don't even have the ability to come up to a factory standard level of lights such as the front fender or TourPak.
I would like to see a setup where you can custom build your bike from a list and then you would have a more custom setup and not have to upgrade stuff later. In lieu of that I think a CVO should at least have the same setup as stock. Then have stuff upgraded or custom from there. If I was in charge I would want to use the CVO line as the showcase for the best I could produce  and if given a choice of parts I would use the upgraded part.(Chrome vs. black etc.) Then "Quality Control " would be the best.(As close to Zero Defects as possible leaving the factory) I would rather slow delivery than deliver defects. Just my .02 though.
I do defend the right for everyone to personalize their bike to their own standard of beauty and I hope they enjoy it at any degree of addons or deletions.
Those red/yellow LED lights for the rear look great! I bet they would get lots of attention too. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Hi cuthbertss,
I see you link for the Fire and Ice lightbar by Plasmaglow for trucks. That is a nice product and several members on the Chevy Avalanche Fan Club of North America have installed them. Only a few have had problems with the bars burning out. Some have said the backup white LEDs are more for show than pratical. There is an imported bar that is on Ebay that burns our regularly and has started small fires.(Be careful)
On the Avalanche site the favorite LED bar is the one by Altech and is named the "Line Of Fire". It does not have the white backup LEDs but is very reliable and bright. Very easy install too with an adaptor to tie into trailer hitch wireing.

Bagger,

It's possible to make up a strip with turn signals yourself.  For example, with the radiantz strips you get an outer tube and the actual LED strips.  Say you want the total length to be 18", with a turn signal on each end.  You could order a 12" red strip and two 3" amber strips (one for each end), plus an 18" outer clear tube.  The red run/brake portion would be wired as Terry indicated, and each turn signal would be wired to the respective T/signal circuit.  I actually thought about doing this last year and contacted the radiantz folks to make sure the tube had enough room to run three sets of wires.  They assured me there was, and that others had in fact done what I was proposing.

Another method would be to use amber strips on each saddlebag and the red on the Tour-Pak; you just have to use quick disconnects on the wiring for the bags, similar to the setup with the bag lid spoilers.

Jerry

Thanks Jerry.  I was looking at that on their webpage.  I'm thinking the length is what has to be consistent.  I'll give them a call and see if they can square me away.

Yep, magicl, custom dynamics is radiantz or at a minimum sell online through them.  They have great service and the lighting is great for our bikes.
I do not think so, the latter would be more correct.  They carry products other than lighting.

I think it is the latter, www.radiantz.com takes you to Custome Dynamics and I imagine the hooked up so that Radiantz doesn't havve to run their own site.

Yes, it looks like they out-sourced their distribution to Custom Dynamic who is located in Wake Forest NC., while Radiantz is located in Brookings OR.  Makes sense, as Custom Dynamics sells other related products that Radiantz does not make or carry.  Makes for great "one stop shopping"!

How are you all crimping the male terminal ends to the wires ? Are you all using a regular pair of crimmpers and using a little tab of solder for extra security or are use using the "special" multilock style crimpers? If your using the multilock crimpers , where did you get them.

My light strip is suppose to be delivered tomorrow 12/28 and I want to have everything ready for install. Thanks in advance for your help.

Look at Hazers post I think it answers your question, # 57 here: http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1132970136/57

Just received my Radiantz LED light strip (4000-11) and wanted to connect wiring to existing plug inside tour pack without wire splicing.  After several visits to parts dept at dealership trying to find the female plug and pins (no one could find the P/N's), I final got the plug and pins from the service mgr.   Anyone want the part numbers, .... here they are.
P/N 73103-96BK, tab housing, 3 position   (female plug)  ---  1 needed
P/N 73190-96 ,  terminal pins    --- 3 needed
total cost was $4.80 + tax  :)

Thanks Rjob749, I already have those items , I'm trying to find out if everyone is using regular crimpers or the ones that are specifially made for the style of terminal pins that they are using.I know the HD manual calls for using the amp multilock style crimpers and I am just trying to find out if anyone is using them.

I did not use the special crimpers....just regular ones, but was careful about how I did it so it would fit in the connector.  The LED's pull very small amounts of current, so there's little danger of heat build up at the connectors as long as you have the main crimp tight.

Thanks TCnBham, thats what I wanted to know. I couldn't see buying a pair of the multilock crimpers for just 3 pins. Worst case scenario I would have had HD crimp them on for me but now I'll just use my own crimpers and be careful about it.
