Sadunbar,

Are these "new" brackets just for the front support arms?  Are you happy with the end result?

Are those heel guards you have as well?  They aren't OEM are they?

I bought the Kuryakyn kit 4588 - two of the four brackets had to narrow of a slot to fit the support arms on my SEUC.  I also emailed Kuryakyn and told them the kit didn't fit my bike (they were to narrow for my support arms) - as described in the product description.  Kuryakyn emailed me back and told me they were aware of the problem and shipped me two replacement brackets - which fit fine.  The installation was simple and the result was great - just what I wanted.  The floorboards were moved one inch forward and one inch out.

The heel guard is an addition I made - purchased on ebay.

I too bought the driver board relocaters from J&P for my '06 CUSE before I read about everybody's problems. When I found the front bracket didn't fit, I emailed J&P and Kuryakyn and explained the problem. J&P replied and told me to send them back, which I did. I have heard nothing from Kuryakyn. Parts are returned and credited my card.

I've solved my extended board problem but I'm still interested in what Kuryakyn did.  What were the two replacement brackets?  Were they the same as the wider slot brackets or completely different?

Have you had any luck Brewnut or are the SERK and SEUC support arms different

I emailed them on the 30th or 31st, put the parts in the mail to return to J&P on the 2nd of September.
Kuryakan does not mention anything in there parts description about having different front brackets. That is mainly why I sent them an email so they would know to change what bikes they fit. I did not expect there to be any other parts that were correct for my application. If they would offer the correct parts I would probably purchase them.
Or I may try to make something myself to do the same thing. I was thinking about a block mounted right on the frame, 1" thick, holes 1" apart. Paint it black then you don't have to worry about chrome and looking fancy out by the boards. I'll will keep you posted.

I actually emailed Kuryakyn via their website and told them the front brackets did not fit my SEUC before I bought the parts from them (based upon the information provided on this site).  Kuryakyn immediately offered to send the correct replacement parts to me.  Once I had the replacement parts in hand, I ordered the kit from Kuryakyn via hd-dude (a member of the site).  That way, I was not at any risk...  Kuryakyn was actually quite prompt in sending the replacement parts - no charge for anything - I had the replacement parts in hand within a week.

The Kuryakyn part number 4588 relocation brackets don't fit on the front of the SE bikes because the front factory bracket is diffrent than a regular bike.

BUT if you call Kuryakyn and tell them your problem they will ship you the Correct front bracket for your SE  ;)

As best I can - since the new part is mounted.  Here is the original part...

And here is the replacement part - mounted.  It is simply the same part...but wider overall.

Sadunbar,

I'm very interested to know how you got on with the extender/spacer.  Are you satisfied with the change to your board position?  How is your shifter position with the change?  Do you need a spacer to extend the shifter peg out a bit?  thanks.

I am very satisfied with the new floorboard location.  I did not space out the shifter.  I upshift with me heel and downshift with the bottom of my toe.  It is very comfortable in this location.  I did, however move the brake pedal cover out about 3/4 of an inch so I can use the rear brake without turning my foot in.  I lengthened the slot the foot pad mounts to and redrilled the cover mounting screw clearance holes.  It worked out fine.  It is a overall a much more comfortable position all around.

You can see the relationship to the shifter pegs in this photo...

Thanks for that.  I can't quite get used to the heal shift, although I've tried for years.  I removed the heal shifter and then moved the toe shift to the end of the shaft and put in a Kury spacer.  I might have to play with the brake but it hasn't concerned me yet.  Pleased to see good outcomes for some with extenders.  Cheers.

Oh my gosh!  The Kury spacers make footboard location soooooo much more comfortable.  :bananarock:

Now if someone has an idea to keep them from rattling at idle, it would be perfect.

Please don't tell me they "Rattle"   :soapbox:

I just re-ordered them, after I read they were modified to fit my SERK!
