That is interesting - because the width of both the front and rear floorboard mounting arms on my 07 SEUC is 1/2" - which would mean these brackets would not fit an Ultra either???

What is the width of the floorboard mounting arms on your SERK?

Just eyeballin' with a ruler (with footboard still attached) mine front and rear support arms are both a "RCH" under 1/2".

Here is a scan of the instruction sheet if it is any help . . .  :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

So it would appear the floorboard mounting arms are the same on the SEUC and SERK...  I wonder what - if anything - the "extenders" fit?  Is this a new product?  They must fit something???   :nixweiss:

I know!!  :soapbox:

I kept thinking I mind F#&@'d this some how . . . that maybe they had just sent me the wrong brackets in the kit, but the pictures (see scanned and attached pdf file in previous post) in the instructions I scanned even show the front bracket slot to be narrower than the rear!!

I dunno??   :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :drink: :drink: :drink: :confused5:

4588 is a new product in may'08 Kury catalogue.  Supposedly fits '97-'08 Road Kings, Dressers, Road Glide & Street Glide.  Maybe they don't fit anything and have to be re-cast.  It obviously doesn't fit 07 SEUC and 08 SERK and I can't imagine the moco having different floorboard mounting arms for all new model tourers - or am I being naive.

Herein lies the rub.

I'm 6'3" and over 270 lbs (and my guts don't rest on the tank).  I feel cramped and want a few inches more room on the bike particularly for long trips.

'08 SERK is kitted out with Ironside Collection including wheels (to a degree) and trim.  The rider footboards are the swept back type with Ironside inserts.

Seat is reptile print as well are saddlebag lids, rider backrest and passenger backrest.

All in all a pretty flash looking bike which I would like to retain.

My dilemma, extend footboards, change seat or both.  Cheapest option first - footboards.  HD extended rider footboard kit is only available as a D shape pan.  Ironside inserts are only available as the swept back type.  D shape pans and any other insert just ruins the look of the bike.  I tried it with the pans of my 06 RK which could've been widened easily enough with Kury 450.

Footboard options don't seem to work so I looked at seat options.  Easy, put my modified touring seat from my RK onto the SERK.  No go.  The moco have changed the fitment configuration because the seat tongues pre 08 lead to scratched tanks.  08 SERK setup has the tongue forward of the battery.  Now the only option is to go and blow a heap of dough on a new seat.  And apparently they are different again on the 09's.

Given my frustration at having to spend even more on getting a comfortable ride position, not to mention 110 problems, I vented at my local dealer's service manager and explained to him that I couldn't help feeling as though I'd been FUTA'd by a big brown chook.

I then spoke to the mechanic who, by the way is a good guy and will do anything to help.  Long story short, he is going to make brackets from stainless to extend my footboards by 1" and also widen by 1".  I should have approached him first ( plus he'll do anything for a bottle of wild turkey )

Fingers crossed.

How do you do that..... unless you are riding as passenger?  :nixweiss:

I do it too - right foot on the right board and swing my left leg over.  Easiest way to get on!

Just put the 3/4" Kuryakyn set on mine, and it makes a world of difference.
Just enough that my feet sit firmly on both now. Nice!  :)

Spacers/extenders now on.  Out 1" wider and nearly 2" forward.  It made so much difference that I won't have to muck around with seats but i will change to RK Custom bars.  I'll post pics when I can figure out how to.

Without me searching to find it, is yours 'standard' height or lowered? I scrape my :pumpkin:with stock lowered suspension on every ride. I can't afford to lose any more clearance!
Thanks,
