I tried to attach a RT file, but am told its invalid file type. I've seen maps posted on other sites and was able to open them so I know it can be done. (the maps were only stock maps though). Any ideas some of you computer wizzards? the files are MT2 if that helps. I have also sent and recieved these files by e-mail.

OK ..... I'm kind of a bone head on computer crap but you might try this:
Open the RT file on your computer, go to file, save as, choose jpg or gif, save it to your desktop or my documents or where ever it'll be easy for you to find. Then try attaching that file to your post.

Dunno if it'll work, just an idea ............................

good luck!

OK, here's what I got from the RT software

Copying Tables to a Spreadsheet

Version 3.5 of Tuning Mode allows copying tables from the screen and pasting them into a spreadsheet or word processing program (such as Excel or Notepad) using the Windows clipboard function.

Follow these steps to copy table data from Tuning Mode:

yea I think that would work but that will only copy the tables, someone would have to open those tables and then change every cell that was different than there own table. With 5 tables and 170 cells on each table i don't think that would work too well. I tried for about 2 hours with no luck, [smiley=thumbsdown.gif] I think we need to call in Naitram.

Maybe an easier option would be for us to start a thread, anyone who wanted to share a map could post what modifications where done to the bike, who made the map, and a breif description of what changes were made to the map (if known). Then someone wanting that map could send that person a private message with a email address where to send it. This might be alot easier, let me know what you guys think.

[smiley=help.gif] OK, Now I really have problems. I finally hooked into my ECM. All went well until I tried to download the factory program. It loads 25% then throws up an error. Something about a bootloader didn't load or something like that. I installed the pipes yesterday and the SE breather today. I gotta get this download to work before I can ride very far. I'm thinking it's running severely lean right now.  [smiley=bigcry.gif]

Anybody have any ideas? Suggestions?

I like the idea of posting descriptions of mods and maps then emailing the maps. At least until someone comes up with an alternative.

hey mark I would not run it at all untill you get a download into it, I'm not sure what problem you encountered, you can test the communication between the computer and the ECM and make sure thats working, bring up map 105HX020 on your computer and follow instructions on page 22. the problem may be with your computer but if you don't have the full download don't take a chance doing damage to your bike. I'll  look for some stuff tonight for that error and I'll call my dealership tommorrow and ask him if he's ever heard of it. Its probably just something simple.

Thanks Starvin
Yep, I shut everything down on the laptop except essentials. I re-started the laptop, re-connected cables and got the same error. I re-installed the program and got the same error. I called HD, the local dealer was real helpful ...  [smiley=duhk.gif] they knew less than me. I put a call in to HD HELP! but they wouldn't answer the phone. I'm pretty sure it's a software issue. I might as well try another install I guess.

I'll call HD tomorrow morning again, I'm thinkin I might need new software.

OH, JCZ. The local dealer couldn't seem to find time for me. I think he's pissed cuz I went 300 miles north to get the SEEG. He claimed he couldn't get me one but he had a perfectly good electra glide standard he could sell me complete with a 103" and custom paint if I wanted. I played this same game with him over the SERK. He kinda caters to his friends first. Bad Mojo with that dealer to say the least!
