I probably wrote in this thread a long time ago before I left. but here goes,
I bought the 07 FLHTCUSE2 Blue because I like the color arrangement and the engine displacement.  I had big displacement engines before when owning  a GL1800 and a VTX1800 by Honda. I wanted to get an American version of such an engine. I haven't been unhappy about owning "ole Blue". The Motor Company did right in building the engine, but fell short on engineering.  But when you have been "bit" by a Harley, you'll stick with her until she dies.
As tempermental she can be, you will always clean her up and ride. And oh, did I mention, take along your credit card for expenditures.
Harley is a way of living. CVO or otherwise.

Ok, I started this thread over 3 months ago and I guess it's about time for me to post why I bought a CVO. Now mind you that I have only had my SEUC for about 2 weeks now and today it hit me. I work a lot in the fall and winter so not a lot of time right now for two wheel time. Today I did the Toys for Tots run and when I got home I pulled "The Mistress" into the garage and the Fatboy was just looking at me, so I took my old friend out for a ride for the first time since the new bike came home. Holy Chit I now know why, the whole time I was saying what a piece and my Fatboy is a very nice bike. But the ride of my CVO is, well you know. I now understand, but you have to own one to know. I guess from this point forward I will always have a CVO.  :2vrolijk_21:

When I saw it, I knew that was the bike I had to have.  An 07' Copper Canyon FXSTSSE.  Right before Christmas, my buddy and I drove from Houston to Milwaukee to pick it up.  One of the best, if not the best, Christmas present I've ever had.  There was 10-12 inches of snow on the ground when we got to Milwaukee Harley to load it on the trailer.  We headed back south driving into the snow, by the time we reached southern Missouri I couldn't wait any longer.  We had to pull over and take turns riding.  Even though the temperature was in the low 40's, MAN what a rush.  When we finally stopped in in Arkansas to put her back on the trailer,  "WOW What is that?", was the question from the locals.  20 years from know I believe I'll still be getting that question.

I've been eye-balling the new CVO Street Glide at my local dealership - tequilla sunrise paint scheme.  Just a gorgeous bike.  I'm in the market for a new bike sometime late-2010.
I've got an 04 customized Fat Boy, which I bought from a friend - stock motor, but lots of chrome, skulls, and V&H pipes.  My wife is eager to learn to ride so I've promised her the FB if I were to get a new bike.
We ride a lot.  I work from home and have the freedom of packing the laptop in the bags and the two of us just taking off.  We also live down south, so our riding season is nearly year-round.  In fact, riding has become our most enjoyable past time - fishing, crabbing, and shrimping come in a close second.  We're members of our local HOG chapter and enjoy the group rides, but we have more time available to us than most.  So, I'm sure I'd get my money's worth out of the bike.
I've read below that all you thoroughly enjoy your SE bikes and will never go back to a stock HD.  That's a good testament.

What I'd like to know from you all out there is your experience negotiating with your dealers for your SE bikes.  Do the dealers deal on SE bikes?  Our dealer claims to sell at MSRP.  The tag on the 2010 SESG is a bit over $31k.  With the economy as bad as it is, and HD profits way off from 2008, how eager are the dealers to sell?  What's a dealer really make on a new bike anyway?  What's his cost?

Sam... I've heard mostly MSRP purchases. I think there were one or two guys that got a grand off but have also heard MSRP + asking 2 grand up to 5 grand over for the TS.

The dealer cost really isn't the issue that you face because it's a SE bike and it sells for what it sells. Bottom line is they are going to sell the bike to someone and the TS is HOT. It's all about adding goodies to the list to sweeten the deal. Pipes, SEST, front pegs and mounts and the list goes. Have them toss in the 1000 mile service too. Don't worry about what they may think or telling you no, they will give a little and normally come back with half of what you are asking hoping to hook you asap.

Go get that TS and enjoy.

Sam,

I live in central Florida and while it is possible to find what you want in this state at MSRP it is much easier for me to just ride up to Atlanta or NC and buy the bike from one of those dealers at MSRP and get treated as if you had shopped there all your life.  The local dealers here in the Daytona area are not and have not willing to sell at MSRP for Screaming Eagles.  I have found anywhere from 1000 over to 14k over at Ormond.

My only advice would be to stick to your guns/price.  You can get a dealer to do a dealer locate for you nationwide to find the bike/color you are looking for from there it is a matter of dialing the phone and seeing what they will do for ya.

Happy Shopping :)

Speaking of MSRP - Saw 3 SEUC while in sunny South Florida at 2 different BR dealerships.  Both marked up 10K!!!!!!!   :o
Got mine for MSRP - read my post for the full story.

I don't understand it. In Germany we have comparatively few dealers - but no one dears even to try asking more than MSRP. 5 to 10 % under MSRP is fair trade as the dealer has almost twice the profit with CVO's compared to standard bikes.
