I've been eye-balling the new CVO Street Glide at my local dealership - tequilla sunrise paint scheme. Just a gorgeous bike. I'm in the market for a new bike sometime late-2010.
I've got an 04 customized Fat Boy, which I bought from a friend - stock motor, but lots of chrome, skulls, and V&H pipes. My wife is eager to learn to ride so I've promised her the FB if I were to get a new bike.
We ride a lot. I work from home and have the freedom of packing the laptop in the bags and the two of us just taking off. We also live down south, so our riding season is nearly year-round. In fact, riding has become our most enjoyable past time - fishing, crabbing, and shrimping come in a close second. We're members of our local HOG chapter and enjoy the group rides, but we have more time available to us than most. So, I'm sure I'd get my money's worth out of the bike.
I've read below that all you thoroughly enjoy your SE bikes and will never go back to a stock HD. That's a good testament.
What I'd like to know from you all out there is your experience negotiating with your dealers for your SE bikes. Do the dealers deal on SE bikes? Our dealer claims to sell at MSRP. The tag on the 2010 SESG is a bit over $31k. With the economy as bad as it is, and HD profits way off from 2008, how eager are the dealers to sell? What's a dealer really make on a new bike anyway? What's his cost?
