As expected, everyone is giving great advice at spending your money.  One thing to remember if you truely want a red cherry, each dealer got 1 each of the three 05 colors so they aren't plentiful.  Going thru a lot to make a purchase such as this will make for great stories.   Good luck and let us know how it works out.

Well Siegfried Heres my story. I had a 99 Fatboy, year after year and dollar after dollar I tried to make a bike that would stand out in a crowd. Custom paint ,enough chrome and billet to build a battleship and still it was nothing but a little better than the next. Like you i started searching the net for bikes,I happened across a 02 SERK and I instantly fell in love. So now that my OCD was starting 6 million things are racing in my mind, sell my bike ,make a deal for the SERK and it was in Georgia and I live in CT.Well I guess the CVO gods were looking upon me,I listed my bike on Ebay and sold it the next day,I called the dealer and gave him a deposit on the bike as a guy was just about to pull the trigger down there. So 2 of the 3 things were handled now only how the hell can I get my bike home? Well that was solved by Biketoberfest.I had a bunch of friends going down, trailering and there was enough room in the trailer for 1 more bike and thats it. Drove down to GA picked up my SERK rode it for the week of Biketoberfest and everything was well worth it. As to the usual suspects on this site, well its like a second family to me already. I'm knee deep in this site everyday and I love it. Also it helps with my OCD. Well thats all I got to say about that. Good Luck in whatever your descision may be.   Later Q [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Hubbard, Hubbard, Hubbard--Now why did ya have to go back and dredge up 1978?  Anyway, I think you are protected by the statute of limitations for any of your skullduggery committed back then.  As for me, I'm a forgiving guy....but if you mess with the Cherry I got my eye on this time, you'll never have the need to investigate 'male performance enhancers'......if you catch my drift.

BigDaddy--thanks for your story.  Amazing how things can come together and a process that seems horribly difficult or just impractical one moment can suddenly become quite doable the next.  It's all a matter of star alignment--have to watch out for that 'Mercury in retrograde' thing--my astrologer tells me that the last time Mercury was in retrograde was from November 14 - December 4, 2005.  So I should be ok.  And thanks for the well-wishes.

Did I mention that a buddy of mine is going in to Phoenix to look at red bike for sale somewhere in that area.

I also looked at building some thing from electra glide standard or stripping an ultra, but I knew I HAD to have the orange seeg. I realy like the bike not at all sorry I bought it, and the orange one is the fastest seeg.

Today's the day.

As much as I'd like to hang with all y'all and chat, I have to go see a man about a motorcycle.  So feel free to socialize here and talk amongst yourselves.  I'll be back with Siegfried's Saga:  Part Deux!  (Pronounced 'Duh!' or 'Doh!' or somethin' like that...who's our French language expert?  Oh yea, Mr. Buku Bucks---Hubbard, what's your take?)

I know alot of you guys keep talking money, buying stock and buying parts and chrome goodies vs. CVO more money up front. How many CVO owners leave there bikes the way they came from the MoCo. Just being at this site I think that many of us spend just as much on our beloved CVO's(pipes, gear drives, heads, pistons, air cleaners, seats, more chrome, throttle bodies, six speeds, wheels, more chrome and more chrome) as we would on a stocker. My.02 is buy what you really want so you won't second guess yourself latter.

I haven't spent near as much on my SEEG as previous Ultra Classics, Heritage, Low Riders, etc.  This bike pretty much already had all the chrome and the paint so didn't even have to go there.  Bone stock it was faster than an 88" but on all bikes I would change the A/C, Race Tuner (or Power Commander) and exhaust so I'm way ahead on power, not even having to touch the heads, etc.

I know that AK and several others on here haven't done anything to their SEEG.
