They are nice and loud.  Can actually be heard in traffic; which can't be said for the stock horns.  Guess that should mean that they're cheap at any price.  But it's still an expensive horn.  Screw it, rather than spend $250 for one I like the looks of and have the only other gain being that it's a bolt on maybe I'll just get on the Stebel horns they're built around, cut it up and mount it like the one on the red bike and have the whole thing done on the cheap.

Don, I've always loved this horn cover.... http://www.chromedomemotorcycleproducts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=102&products_id=239&zenid=ef37bf7v8e5rc8bf58h5gror24    And they've dropped the price too!!

Would I be able to mount that stebel horn beneath the heart?

No, not entirely.  Even with a larger Kuryakyn V shaped horn cover I used the intent was never to put the entire horn behind the cover.  Just wouldn't fit.  Instead cut the bellows/sounder part down to size to make it fit behind the cover after separating it from the compressor unit.  Then epoxied the sounder to the inside of the horn cover.  Mounted the compressor in the hole in front of the battery.  And ran a piece of 3/8" fuel line to work as air line between the two.  It's as loud as it would be directly connected.  The compressor unit is actually better removed from weather this way.  Has worked flawlessly for several years now.

I already had the Kuryakyn cover when I did this.  At the time I remember guessing that it "probably" wouldn't fit behind the stock cover.  I was wrong though.  Not long after I did it someone else did the same thing with their stock cover.  That heart cover has always looked to me to be a bit bigger than the stock cowbell.  So, while I've never tried it, my guess is that it could be made to fit.

Here ya go, just found the old thread where the conversion was detailed.  If the bellows fits in the cover it all becomes a pretty simple little task.

Thanks Hoist! I might just be giving them a call to see just how big the heart is and what if anything will be in the way on the other side to hide the stebel horn. I took another look and did see Cybil...Hope she's all back together again. Maybe I'll get my bike pic in their gallery once I add the heart cover... :2vrolijk_21:

At the risk of being called names, I actually like that too... anyone can do the passe skulls and all, but it'd take a real man to wear his heart on his sleeve bike.    8)

Same company offers those on a few shades of powder coat also.  Have seen them in red and black also.

Would definitely clash with yellow... but would be cool on a black or red bike!

These are not air horn but very loud.  I like the fact that they're hidden.

I love the mini Beast on my 2006 CVO and I had one on my 1997 Fatboy too, They got lots of drivers attention. The newer versions are more stylish and not boxy which is nice.
The hidden horns above are nice being tucked away but out the back and facing the ground? I would think at highway speeds it would increase the effect of the sound being behind you. I personally would rather have the sound going forward or at least out the side to get the attention of traffic in front or behind you. I got the Mini Beast on my Ultra vs. forward facing airhorns since i didn't want the sound blocked and bouncing back off of the lowers.

I've got a potential problem with the red one.  My niece is six and likes to ride with me.  She considers the red Road Glide "her" bike as it's the one really setup for her to be secure and comfortable in.  A few weeks ago she saw a picture of that red one in a magazine.  Now... well.... yeah, she'd really like it on "her" bike ::) .
