No cams yet Hermit. I do have a question or two though. How did the dealer flash the ECM using a SERT? Did they disconnect the speedo or pull fuses? Did they use a SERT or a SEST?

Pipes look really nice.

For those who are following this thread for the Fullsac softail baffles...

I hear they should be shipped back to me today and here by first of next week. Once I get them installed I'll sound off (no pun intended)

I'll answer as best I can. Disclaimer: I am certainly not a tech guy and therefore try to do a lot more reading than posting here.

I was told the dealer used a "Super Tuner". This probably means it is a SEST instead of a SERT (sorry...I don't really know the difference). They told me they did a "download" based on my modifications that would not be ideal, but would be "better than stock". I was advised not to dyno tune until 1000 miles as numerous high RPM pulls are required to do it correctly. There was no mention of any problems with the digital speedometer. I didn't specifically ask about this as I hadn't read about people having problems until after I had already picked up the bike from the dealership.

Whatever they did, it sure runs much better since the Vance and Hines exhaust was installed.

Got ya...  thanks

SERT= Scream'n Eagle Race Tuner, old style, was made by the people at TTS
SEST = Scream'n Eagle Pro Super Tuner
TTS= Upgraded SERT made and sold by TTS Mastertune

There are many differences. Would be much easier (and shorter) than me trying to type it here if you went to the tuning area and check out the threads when you have time. I've used all three and have my preference.

Sounds like they simply put a canned stage 1 type of flash on your ECM. I asked you because there seems to be chatter about the ConV stock speedo causing issues flashing the ECM where a fuse had to be pulled or the speedo disconnected first. There is probably a service bulletin on it somewhere that told them what to do. This stage 1 type of flash will simply change your VE tables and maybe your AFR's a little. To make that short... it's a little richer than what you had. Stock is very lean.

Just to add... you can use the Smart Tune software on the SEST to adjust your VE tables. This is primarily what they will do on a dyno but it won't cost you 350 or more bucks. All you need is the SEST CD and the cables.

Stay safe and enjoy that bike!  :2vrolijk_21:

As I mentioned earlier, I planned to install a TMax w/ autotune & wide band O2 sensors, along with Rush slipons and 1.75 baffles.

The HD guys in Annpolis finished the job along with detailing the bike last Saturday (Dropped the bike off at 1100, and they were done at 4:00 PM) Because of the salt still on the highways from our latest storm, decided to leave the bike at the dealers for now. I did stop by tonight to talk to the tech that did the mods, and listen to the new pipes.

Very satisfied with the Rush sound.., maybe a little too loud, but that was due to being inside the service bay. I'm sure they'll be great outside. Here are some questions and comments from our conversation.

I asked the warranty guy about comments on various forums indicating that the install of TMax would impact the warranty. His response..., the TMax install, completed by the dealer, has no impact on any warranty claims, except the TMax must be covered on it's own warranty. I know some other threads have said the complete opposite, but this dealer is an authorized TMax dealer, and he said there was no way they would install the TMax on an HD bike if it impacted the warranty. Bottom line, the dealer makes the warranty decision, so I'm satisfied with their position.

I asked if after the TMax install, should the bike by dyno'd. His response.., no. The autotune feature is there to adjust the baseline map offsets, based on how I drive the bike. The Dyno would only give me an HP chart. Also he advise his customers not to Dyno a new bike. The process is tough on the engine and exceeds break in recommendations.

Next question, now that the TMax is installed, what do I do. The answer.., ride the bike and when I bring it in for the 1000, have them replace the base map with the new "learned" map offsets points. As the autotune learns and adjust the baseline map to my ridding style, the + or - offsets over the initial map, are updated to the base map and produce a new modified map. I can also monitor the base and offsets using the software and my laptop.

I have been spending a lot of time going over the videos and 200 page instruction manual to get a better idea of how this product works and the info I can view, but for now I'll leave the "tweaking" to the pros at the shop.

BTW.., more snow for tonight... This is what I get for buying a bike in November.

More later

Mickey

Wiz, that's great news about the baffles. Did Steve modify your originals or fab up a complete new set? I can't wait to "hear" your report. Gonna order mine as soon as he is ready for production.

Whole new prototype based on the touring design Mike. These suckers should sound awesome. I told him to trash my old baffles as there's nothing on them to modify except the inside of a dumpster.

I should have something to tell you guys later next week. We are very excited about getting them back.

If Mr. Wiz's  pipes are in the mail.. Steve should be ready to start taking orders... Right?

Ya know I asked him that. Since these are prototypes he said he was going to hold off production until I got them installed and gave him feedback. If they are not what we expected then to send them back for another modification. We both agreed to that.

One thing... I don't want our emotions or us getting in a hurry to affect the concept for everyone else. He wants us totally satisfied before making more. Although I can respect that I just wish UPS would hurry the hell up.

On another news front and speaking of prototypes, I have the first TTS map for the ConV. It's not available on their download site yet.

I finished the TMax install and the Rush 1.75 slip-ons. I started a new thread (Completed ThunderMax install on 2010 CVO Convertable) that contains the details.

Feedback

I received my mufflers the other day as promised from Fullsac. Since Steve didn't rivet the baffles in I slid them out to take a look. Picture attached.

After installing the SS rivets and putting them on the bike we gathered around for a listen. Opened the garage door and cranked her up.

She's not stock anymore boys. The sound is very similar to the Fullsac touring baffles but due to the shorter size are a little louder. The ones I have are 1.75 which is the largest size Fullsac can make due to the internal structure of the stock muffler can. Putting my SESG, also with Fullsac 1.75's and the ConV side by side you can tell a difference but not much. The 1.75's are not quite as loud as a set of 2.0. I could see a set of 1.5's also working out very well.

So, the pipes do have a rich mellow deep tone to them. Nothing tinny or just noisy about them at all. The Wife wrote to Fullsac thanking then for this and said..." they are perfect... I'm going to sleep with them in the garage tonight". That's good enough for me guys.

I spoke with Steve for a few minutes about their construction. The end caps are not a stock production part that you can simply stamp out yourselves or find on a shelf somewhere. The ConV stock cans are an odd ID and our end caps had to be painstakingly modified and milled. This took considerable shop time. Steve doesn't want to promise that he can produce these or will even attempt another production at this time. Not only would there be considerable upfront costs but the ConV is limited so there would not be that many he could sell to recoup his time and efforts. He may continue to look around for an end cap that is usable but for now it's cost prohibitive. Also being a businessman I can relate and respect that.

The Wife and I feel very blessed to have these and are extremely happy with the results. We only wish these could be available to others as well.
