I just got a 2012 CVO Ultra in May.  I had the 574 Cam's put in it a Sturgis with Rush true duals and a thundermax tuner.  I love it.  I probably lost some HP. The Dyno that was done in Sturgis had it at 91 HP and 101 TQ.  I would have thought it would have been more.  I have a set of fullsac header pipes at home I wonder if I should put them on?

My 2011 CVO SG has a TTS download with fullsac headers and 2 inch slip ins. It is putting out 96 and 114.

Maybe it was the altitude on my 2012.  Should i another dyno done again?  I assume the thundermax needed to work it's tune.

While bikes do differ and sometimes considerably, I think in this case I would consider another dynotune on the bike and might even consider bringing your fullsac mufflers with you just to be sure its not the slip ons hurting it as well.

Was your other bike tuned with a TTS or a Thundermax?

Thanks for the reply Unbalanced.    I am thinking that i am going to have another dyno done with the true duals then maybe swich it out to the fullsac headers and get it done again.  the good thing is that with my thundermax i can quickly change the tune and ride it a few miles before getting another dyno.

The 2012 CVO has fueler 574's, rush duals, thundermax tuner, rinehart 4 inch slip ons and is putting out 91 HP, and 101 TQ according to the dyno done in Sturgis at a cost of $3200 installed.

The 2011 CVO has a fullsac stage 1 which is just a tts download and headers with 2 inch slip IN's and puts out 96 HP and 114 TQ at a cost of about $1000 and i did it myself.

When riding the two I cant tell the differance so i assume my 2012 probably has more than originaly thought.   The 574's with true duals and rinhart's sound awsome though.

The difference is prolly in an RPM where you wouldn't notice it as much due to the hold on factor / speed.   The big deal for you is the timing tables and making sure they are right, fuel is easy, but timing / knock are not quite so easy as the thundermax doesnt leverage that functionality.

Interesting.  I never thought of that.  So how should I check the timing tables? I thought the thundermax would adjust everything.  thanks for the assistance.

You might consider going back to the stock ECM with a TTS tuner as the timing on the thundermax afaik there is no exact science as the Thundermax is Alpha N type of tuner vs. the Harley or TTS which is based off Delphi pressurized manifold system.   I would probably arm myself with the timing tables from someone who has had a professional tune with the 574 and the TTS and look at max values to not exceed where I could and from there rely on a good tuner with a good ear to hope you are not getting any pinging.   Just because you can't hear it doesnt mean its not there, but you might go out and try and force it to ping especially at lower rpm with wacks of the throttle as it goes through the rpm band.

It is very easy to use the Tmax to adjust timing, it is not so easy to get it right.
I would just go to timing and increase the entire map 1 degree at a time, and then test ride it.  When it is to much you will hear it start to ping/detonate.  When this happens note the rpm ranges and retard the timing in those areas.  It will take some time/patience without a dyno to get it close.
I used a thundermax for a year and adjusting the timing will give you some nice performance gains.

Great. thanks for the information. I will try the adjustment and if I am not happy just change to another tuner.  I dont have any poping or pinging for the most part so i suspect there is room to adjust it.  The only poping  have now is about 3700 when letting off the throtle.

This is not timing.  Popping is not the same as pinging/detonation.
Pinging you will hear in the motor not the exhaust.  It will sound like you have ball bearings popping like microwave popcorn in your cylinder heads.
You might find someone local with tuning experience with the thundermax to help you vs buying another $$tuner$$.

Wonder why Feulings web site shows a much lower and not so pretty curve with the 574 in a 110?
 http://www.feulingparts.com/dynocharts.php

interesting read  bout these cams.
perhaps the reason  the curve is off so much on Fueling  site is because they are using  honest dyno run and not decieving folks into thinking  they will get results equal.  lot of the misleading dyno runs on  forums selling parts and lies.

Because the 110 is very pipe sensitive, more so than the 96/103 motors.
