The 05 chopped tour pak lid has the screamin eagle emblem on it, 04 just says HD I think.  Looked at the emblem in Sturgis and thought it was nice touch why couldn't they have put it on the 04's as well.

The chopped pak may look better (or may not depending on your personal preference), but it's like Gennifer Flowers described Bill Clinton's penis; soooooo short.

Question regarding the 575 handlebars from Wild for those that have made the swap.  I'd been wating to decide on a bar swap until a little time on the new seat had been logged.  Seat position and a sore shoulder are strongly suggesting the bar change.  For those that have been there and done that:

Clutch hydraulic line length?

Brake hydraulic line length?

Throttle and idle cable length?

Looking over the prior threads on the topic there seem to be posts suggesting that the brake line is ok, or that it ought be a couple inches longer.  Local shop doesn't stock the 2" over line so I'll need to order it in if necessary.  So, if you've been there and done that, any experienced based advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for URL.  I'd made the decision awhile back and ordered the bars a few weeks ago.   Got them on like all of 70 miles ago.  The look is good.  More important I think the dull ache between my shoulders is going to be gone.

   Here is another option for some floorboard spreaders that I found. Les from EZEE is in Mexico and I needed the spreaders asap so I was forced to find another source. I am installing Vance and Hines Dresser Duals tomorrow and the directions say I need to space the right floorboard out a bit so I thought why not do both sides the right way. These look like they will do the trick and they are CHROME!! I'll post a follow up on the install. Here is the info on the spreaders www.softbrake.com. The man's name is Rick and he sells extended brake pedals, shifters, and spreaders among other things for the FL's. He will also give you his opinion on a variety of topics without provocation [smiley=laugh.gif].

I did mine and happy about the more room my feet have. But unhappy about all the scraping I been doing on turn since installed.

   Here is a picture and some feedback on the floorboard spacers. I like them. Because of the upward angle of the boards they are raised up ever so slightly when they are spaced out. I noticed this as my foot had less room under the shifter. However, as noted in other posts you have more board to rest your feet on and they get your legs farther away from the air cleaner and gas tank. Scraping... I agree with some other members who posted that if you lean far enough over to scrape the boards with the spacers then you would probably have done it without them as well. I am showing a picture of what the chrome spacer looks like as there are other pictures in this thread showing what the boards look like before and after the spacers are installed.

This doesn't qualify as a "must have" but it didn't seem important enough to justify a new thread all it's own either.  Really just for those that have the two tone red (ok, Cherry) SEEGs.

I started wearing a 3/4 helmet for any long-ish ride a couple of years ago as it had gotten to the point that my ears bitched after a long day in the saddle.  A good day had me where I just couldn't hear much that night.  And a really good like 600 mile + day would have me where my ears rang so loudly I might not sleep that night.  So I started wearing the bigger hat for the long days.  This is leading to the point of this post; honest....

Was in a nice bike shop not far from me yesterday (a Honda shop, but still a fun shop) and saw some of the Arai helmets that are painted to match the Goldwing colors.  They had an Arai Classic M in a "Candy Cherry" that is really really really close to the red on our red SEEG's.  From more than a couple feet away it's just about impossible to tell the difference.  I actually quite liked the venting in the helmet (even if it's not the studliest looking thing otherwise) and it was better than anything else I've had on for noise and fit.  So I picked one up.

Was thinking, however, that the color match might be more commonly significant (as most of us probably don't wear the big brain boxes that I do if I want to hear anymore) if anybody was looking at the Corbin seats.  Corbin's "oval bac" backrests have color options for their backplates.  They have no color options for Harley (so I picked chrome when I got mine) but they do have this Honda color as an option.  I wish I'd have known this before I got my seat as I'm pretty sure I'd have gotten the colored backrest back pieces instead of the chrome.  The match is that close.  Just info to keep in your back pocket if you too have one of these red Glides.

Hi all,
Still new to the forum, I just finished this thread and the idea of the spacers sounds good and I thought I'd add a fix I put on. I know I'm not the only one with a good sized boot, but I haven't seen a mention of a  extended shift lever. I put one on the rear and love having my entire boot on the floorboard. Mine came from http://www.waltersworkshop.com/extended-shift-levers.html and it was worth every penny.
If anyone has more info on the XM set up or the communication set up mentioned a few pages earlier, I'd love to see it. I know,  [smiley=worthless.gif] We'll fix it soon. We have the B/B and Cherry and Orange & Black F-250, So I owe!  [smiley=oops.gif]
