What about having only 5 spd tranny though?  Is that irritating on the highway on a longer trek?

The stock gear ratios are such that this isn't a big deal.  "Sweet spot" will have you in a comfortable cruising RPM range on the highway.  If you'd later do engine work that moved the torque curve in earlier you might consider a six speed change.  But in stock or close to stock trim you'd find you're not using sixth gear until you're doing close to 80 anyway.

Your my HERO  :huepfenlol2:

I have only had 4 HD's and only one 6 speed. Never an issue as I rarely used 6th gear on the one I had. Plus a 6 speed upgrade is less than 2k since you would be saving 8.5k on the purchase seems like a no brainer.

I use that saying all the time!  :)  Thing is, the guy says that someone else was to western union a deposit to him today  but it hasn't appeared in his account yet.  He will let me know tomorrow if it is still available. maybe I missed it by waffling!...  :nixweiss:

In the meantime, I have a line on a 2009 SE Ultra for a good price but it has 24000 mi on it. It was driven to Alaska and back.  Do you think the miles is a real negative thing?  Its the only way I could afford a 2009 I think...  I like the idea of the new frame, electronic throttle, ABS.....    :huepfenjump3:

Be sure and take a look at this bike before you buy....if I were shopping, I would have to seriously consider it...

That's the one!  I have been speaking with the gentleman about it but I think he now is expecting a deposit from another guy.  Still up in the air. Will see tomorrow. Edit to add...  He ended the auction, that means the guys money came through, this one is out of the picture for me.  It was a really good deal.

When it's a good deal on a SEEG, if you cough........it'll be gone.  They're probably still the most sought after other than the 09s and 10s. :2vrolijk_21:

yea the cherry is sold... it was loaded with goodies and well taken care of by Jeff who is a member here and a very nice gentleman!...  I am depressed about it.  There will be another though!  The hunt continues!!

Again, what about an 09 SE Ultra with 24000 highway miles if I can get the price right...  I like the 09 frame the ABS, electronic throttle.... Is the mileage a really bad thing?  i could never afford an 09 with low mileage...... is an 09 a lot nicer than a 04,05?

Thanks!

Big difference in the 09 and 10 baggers, even where the 110" motor is concerened.  The 09 and 10s should be considered if you can get it for the right price.

24k miles on an 09?  My wife has more than that on her 09 Street Glide.  The newer bikes are built to a lot closer tolerances than they were back in the 60s and 70s and they'll go a hell of a lot further.  Not uncommon now days, to see a bike with over 100k miles before a rebuild.

The new chassis/frame, ABS, bigger tires (more traction when it's really needed in those hairy situations.....ice, wet, wet tracks, even slippery asphalt, etc.) is all things to take into consideration.  It should still have a factory warranty and if you're concerned about the mileage on the clock, get the extended warranty (it's negotiable but they will not tell you that.....and you can buy the extended warranty from any dealership as long as it's still under the factory warranty).

Let us know what you decide.

Thanks for your help everyone.....  Well, here is where i am at.  I gotta make a move soon, I am dying to ride my CVO to be!!  I NEED HELP HERE!!   :)

I just came back from looking at another that popped up locally..   It is a 2006 with 11k mi with original Screaming eagle slipons and a Thundermax system in this color with a nice floor jack and some helmets with intercom, and he has a race tuner that will go with it as well for 21k.  I have to see if I can talk him out of his and his wifes screaming eagle leather jackets to throw in at that price as well!  LOL   :P  That color looks very classy in person.

It will need new tires and I think I want true duals like a rinehart with a more agressive sound.   I don't like the sound that much  altho it is not bad.

Very classy bike in person, not too ostentatious.

It still has the original header pipe with bung holes for o2 sensors installed for the T-max and any new pipe I get will have to have those too I guess. Is it normal for that to be the case?  Is the Thundermax what they say it is, a good thing?

Or for 25k i can have this Orange and black 07 with 800 miles and recalls have not been done yet. They will get done for free.   It has some kinda Vance and Hines and it doesnt sound that good either but I am sure it hasn't been tuned very well yet.  Nice looking bike but the paint scheme is a little weird with that orange on the tank and the fender but the black ice  is amazing it has GPS   6 speed 110 tires are new, true dual already on even tho I dont care for the sound all of which the 06 doesnt have.

or I can maybe  get the 09 with 24k  for 28500 shipped.

I know I have to make my own decision of course but I am trying to get the most value for my money.  I know the 09 would b awesome but I really didnt plan on spending that kinda dough.. ..the tax on the 09 one will be very high too.

So, I guess what I am asking is which is the best value for the money?  Most bang for the buck and keepin it in the budget?  Actually I dont know what I am asking!   :nixweiss:  Just would appreciate some feedback!  I had three hours of sleep last nite and if I dont get a bike soon the summer will be over!  My girl is getting tired of looking at the side of my head while I stare at bikes on computer...  she would much rather stare at the back of my head while riding on the back of my new CVO!!!! :pepper:

Here's another for you to consider...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160446756383&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_1410wt_1161

There are no bids on this bike at $31k.  And there doesn't appear to be a reserve.  If this bike can be bought for $31k, you will not find more bike for your money...IMHO   :2vrolijk_21:
