Do you know what the db level for the Hi Outputs are? Im thinking about putting them on my SERK, But if they are the same as the MO's (94) i'm not wasting my money, Thats not loud enough.
The Hi Outputs are 104 db, the Basic Slip ons are 101. For every 3 db perceived volume is twice as loud. Although the Hi outputs are rated much higher than the Monsters, they still do not seem offensively loud. I think it is because they sound so deep and the low frequency volume is not as offensive to the ear as higher midrange frequencies are. They really have a low frequency purr when cruising, and growl when you jump on it. They sound real good and others have commented that they like the sound, but I personally would like just a touch more higher frequency crack. Maybe it will happen on its own with a few more miles or maybe I will play around with them a bit...
I had basics before these with no tune. Put hi outputs on at time of tune. .Basics had a bit more crack on top bit did not sound as massive as the Hi Outputs. Another reason I got the High outputs is that they have a quiet baffle available which I bought at the same time but did not try yet. THey were only 24 bucks apiece. You never know when it might be nice to have a real nice quieter bike for a long trip or something. I haven't popped em in to try yet. Supposed to reduce the volume by 5 or 6 db. It'll probably affect the tune but maybe not too bad. It will give me a chance to try the V tune with my TTS when I get some time.
Also, the tech told me power increase numbers with the various mufflers... Basics 3hp, high outputs 5-6 hp and the Monsters rounds and ovals 7-8.
