Dick, you'll feel some better throttle reponse too.

As long as I keep improving the ride, that means I am going in the right direction  :2vrolijk_21:

I had lots of kickback, grinding noises during starting, smoke out of the intake occasionally, horrible sounds....dealer replaced starter, clutch basket, and replaced the OE comp with the SE comp.  Starts better than it ever did.  No questions asked and all covered under original warranty.  Of course, I have the best HD dealer east of the Mississippi (maybe west of it, too).

Compensator installed  ;D

The SE compensator is beefy as hell compared to the old one. Had a few marks on the old one from kick-backs (I would assume).

Took her out yesterday, man.. you touch the start button and she fires  :2vrolijk_21: I haven't noticed any difference in throttle response yet.....I have been a little gun-shy after a ticket I got a few months back. I will be taking it out today for a couple hundred miles.
This was definitely worth the $$$$$ for piece of mind.

My SE comp was installed about 20K miles ago - has started perfectly since, touch the button and she fires right off.  No worries

250 miles today (nice  :2vrolijk_21:)

Started trouble free every time, still not sure about throttle response. I did manage to run the beast pretty hard for the first time since my recent mods have been installed. 112 mph  :o Ran strong, I was pleased :D

No worries, I can feel a marked improvement and that's what matters.

I agree on the SE Compensator being another Can of Worms in the future...
I would think the pressure relief valves installed would do the most good... I plan to install manual ones when I go 103" flat-tops with .030 gasket..
I have SE255's installed now in the 96"/Stock comp. and NO problems starting on my 09 FLHR full stage one and TFI fueler...

Running the comp-releases will make the world of difference in starter reliability and No Kick-Backs.

Harley will have to RE engineer the SE comp to allow OIL into the unit....... the SE comp. FRETTING ie; Lack of Oil into the comp..

The other site has Picts and so Remedies and worth a look
