good to hear your bike is running awesome with the EMS, Looking forward to your dyno numbers.. I have do doubts you'll see anything short of your expectations.  :2vrolijk_21:

I sure hope so! cause if not, a 124 build is in my future!

I installed mine and had a few issues. It was coughing back once in a while on roll on. Had to go back and remove sensors for a free air re calibration. Now im having a start problem and low idle at start up. Talked with andrew but he doesnt reply promply on emails so ill try to call again. Other than that the bike runs great pulls hard :bananarock:

on the unit i recieved you have to set the sensor calibration. not a big deal and the latest units come pre set. i think this caused some low speed lag and cough. they asked me to send my ecm back so it could be checked. bike does run real strong though. noticed it didnt ping at all and its always pinged a little. also looks like the rev limiter has been raised. unit was an easy install especially with twolanes write up. :bananarock:

Vamal,

you have to perform a 'free air calibration'  to insure that the wide band sensors supplied with the EMS is calibrated with the magic 'black' box. In other words, you have to replace the narrow band stock sensors with the supplied Bosch Sensors. Im certain you followed this process, I'm just pointing this out as a detractive. It sounds like you followed these steps and your start up calibration procedure  did not work. Can you let us know what Revolution Performance did to resolve the issue and perhaps Brian can ping in to let everyone know what the problem was??? Im sure everything was not a big deal, but trials and errors will help the next guy/gal setting up a EMS  :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

All the units now come with the calibration done by them ready to install. In my case i had to remove the sensors to recalibrate. No big deal. They set idle speed when the set up ecm. I think mine was a little low and i had to give it a little throttle at start up. Im sending my ecm back prepaid overnite by them so they can ck it out. The bike really does run strong though-  :bananarock:
Ill post when i get the ecm back from them

i got my Revolution EMS this week. I sent my ECU in on sunday and I got it back today. super fast service. I have a 2009 SERG. some quick tips.
1. I bought a O2 socket from Harbor Freight for $7.00 this worked perfect and made it very easy.
2. on 09 you do not need to take off right side cover.
3. the headlight circuit is a blue wire near the bottom.

the complete install took 1 hour wile taking my time.

The bike started right up, did a little adjustment and with in 30 sec ran perfect. I do not know if this is at the perfect AFR...or the best tune and so on all I know is it was easy and the bike feels like it runs as good as it ever has.  I ordered Fullsac X pipe and 2" baffels today. I will put these on as soon as they come in and see how it re-maps for the alterations.

Did you install the Fulsac Baffles yet. Do you have to start over with the tune or did the bike just ajust  by itself/ Thanks Billy

Sorry about the delay.  Weekend honey-do's.  You have to upgrade to a "new" '05-Up ECU.  There is not enough "horsepower" in the '04.  These are easily had on Ebay though for deep discounts over new.

Surprised I missed this whole thread until today.

Great job as always Donny boy.
Have been contemplating for some time which way to go on mine, problem being the lack of good tuners within a decent range.

I'm still using the SERT with my butt dyno. Runs pretty good I think, starts good, pulls well, now decel pop. But those D&D's run hot, and the rear pipe sticking out the way it does is an oven! I have the AFR set a bit low just to help it run a bit cooler. My mileage is around 30-32 around town, 34-35 on the highway.
This would seem a worthwhile change just to up ht mileage.

You mentioned data logging, are you using a Twin Tec for that or do you have a SERT loaded in the bike?

Revperf, asking this on the forum for all to benefit

If the bike is currently equipped with a SERT (05 SEEG) will this affect in anyway what you do to the ECM?

Once re-programmed by your shop, is the SERT flash removed?

If not removed, can a SERT still be used to look at the parameters – data log?

Would making any changes with SERT be counter productive, idle RPM, rev limit decel enleanment (which I assume is a non issue now)?

Someone mentioned a perceived RPM rev limit change, is this reset?
Is the rev limit selectable, e.g. most tuners set to 6200+, I keep mine at 6000?

And if I read correctly, the system should be able to handle most changes to the bike except for a significant increase in displacement. So if I where to just do a “maintenance” change – 103 to 107-110, plus performance heads and cam change I should still be good to go?

Don't want to speak for the shop on details they'll serve us better by answering themselves.  But part of this is direct and is something I'd asked them before doing my own Duane.

Folks that have SERT or other devices that can access the ECM can still do so just as they always did.  The question should at least be asked if you want to mess with the baseline they've provided.  But if there's reason to yes you could.

On my own I've used the Daytona Twin Tec scan tool to access the bike just as it always did.  And more.  Our "dumb" 05s that were never supposed to know AFR from VFR now reports active AFR in real time along with other data.  Also used the SERT that had been used with this ECM once when the bike was nearly new (stupid dealer did it without asking) just to see if it works as it always did.  It does.

The "changes" that they've reported to be out of range for the system are any change to different fuel injectors and a change in displacement of more than 20%.  Have to admit that there are changes within those parameters that to ease my I'd at least call to ask them about.  But those are the repeatedly cited parameters.
