Guys if you search this subject you will find all the answers and then some!   Yaffe plate is held off the fender with welded nuts, I used plastic washers between the nuts and painted fender.  I couldnt bolt it directly to the fender (cringe).  Just make sure the welded nuts are secure to the backing plate before you install, as mentioned above the welded on nuts would break off with VERY LITTLE pressure.  As you look at the attached picture it is from above the mounted Yaffe, you can see the plastic washers between the nuts and fender.

What is behind the Yaffe plate to prevent marks on the fender? I am assuming a rubber mat.

The only part of the fender that the Yaffe plate frame touches are at the bolt holes which will bew covered by any frame you use. There is clearance between the rest of the frame and the fender so other marks will not be made.

Yea this may end up being my answer too IF I can return the Kury 9192. Kury doesn't seem to know exactly when their competing product will be out.

What protects the fender from the frame rubbing on it.


Also, did you sell your manuels yet?

The only contact is where the welded nuts on the plate frame meet the bolt holes on the fender. No other contact on the fender--it's close, but nothing touches. Even if that were to leave a mark, any plate assembly you use will either use those holes or cover them up.

And yes...the manuals are gone.

Yea this may end up being my answer too IF I can return the Kury 9192. Kury doesn't seem to know exactly when their competing product will be out.

Unfortunately, the Yaffe frame hides too much of the plate for up here in NH.  We have our year and month tag stickers in the corners.  Plus I prefer the look of the Kuryakn.  For me, less is more. 

I think I will just make my own back plate and purchase the frame from Kuryakyn.  Will actually save me some money too with them now selling just the frame, or in the near future anyway.  Not to mention it will come with the plug needed already on it.

I was able to return the Kury I bought since the packaging was still in tact.

I decided to see if rhey could order the new Kury CVO products since the deler is in line with them.  The order was accepted at Kury so we'll see if it shows up next week.

I got the plain LED frame and the backing plate.  I'll be ready to trim that chrome piece off immediatly if necessary.
