Ok, I have to vent here, I know I'm not the only person this has ever happened to, but I bought my 2011 SESG on January 10th. It was a day here in Raleigh-Durham where we were waiting on a snow/ice storm. So my dealership got their truck, went to my house and picked up my trade-in (2009 SERG) and brought it back to their shop, swapped my RG mufflers to the new SESG, and then delivered the new bike back to my house. (Kudos to them for being so good to me) But since the storm eventually hit and buggered up our roads, I didn't get to ride the bike till this past Saturday the 15th. So, I bundled up and took her out for a spin, and headed down to the dealership, (Ray Price HD/Triumph in Raleigh) for a quick trip and to get the bike's electric antenna looked at, (it doesn't pick up very well) Long story short, I stopped at a restaurant/bar here in town on the way home and went in to see some friends, and when I get back outside to go home, there is about a 5-7" gouge dead-center on the front fairing, all the way through to the deep plastic/fiberglass (whatever it's made of). Now I have to fork over ~ $700 for a new fairing, and it'll be a minimum of a 30-day wait time to get it from HD. Man, am I ever steamed!
I mean, I work two jobs to afford this, I'm not some sort of condescending rich guy that has to have the latest-greatest stuff, but I do love my Harleys, and I work really hard to afford a new bike now and again. And to have it less than a week and have someone take a knife to it just really gets to me. I can't understand why someone would do that to a stranger's bike for no reason at all. Sorry to dump this here on the CVO beeb, but I just had to type this out and get it out of my system. For the meantime, I'm just going to have to ride the new bike with a big, deep, ugly gouge on the front fairing until the new one arrives from the factory. Man does this ever bite the big one.
Ok, I'm feeling slightly better now, thanks for your time.
