A few years ago was talking to someone who knows stuff about Harley stuff who said that one considered cooling option for fairing bikes would be to place the radiators in the lowers.  It made sense at the time.  This pic looks to be pretty close to that.

I wonder it there's any truth to it.... If you're going with the added weight, maintenance, and water pump, why not just rock the water cooling? Seems kinda bandaid-ish, ya know?

Yeah.  The guy who knew stuff also mentioned it might not be water cooled.  Oil cooling would not require a pump -no added weight of any consequence.  It mainly needs more surface area & a couple of quarts of oil extra.  Like routing oil through finned coolers in lowers, possibly.

Dunno, just possibilities?  When I asked him about the pool boy, he would say nothing else.

Or 1/4 assed??   :drink: ;D

My son in law used to be a Denver motorcycle officer.  Before the public was offered the 103 motor --- the cops had a 103 motor for a couple of years first. Before the public was offered anti-lock brakes  --- the cop bikes had abs brakes for a year or two.  I have not seen any radiator on the new cop bikes yet   -----  just saying????

Not sure if that is correct... Public was offered 103ci in 2003 if memory serves me correctly cop bikes were still 88ci then. :nixweiss:

Memory was correct - 2003 Harley-Davidson Police Electra Glide they were 88ci. Reason I remember is I've got friends that are motor officers and I used to mess with them on my :pumpkin: ;) ;D

I seem to remember the cop bikes were first to get the 103ci kits before the public, at least from Harley Davidson anyway?  :nixweiss:

It's the Wesley' Bleach White that the GreenPeace folks will object to dude. Down on a farm in Alberta with wide whites ?  You must buy the stuff by the drum.

Why not offer us a choice? Make ONE touring model with a water cooled engine. Those who want the air-cooled sound a feel can have it. Those of us who desire a cooler running engine get their choice.

IMHO a water cooled Ultra could bring in a whole new group of customers that never considered a Harley before.
