Welcome to the site.  First have the steering head bearing check for correct adjustment, if good have the bike laser aligned one of these should cure the problem.  I ride both my 04seeg and my cuse at 100+ with no issues what so ever.

Could never get my 01 to 100mph, so I don't know if it had a high speed wobble!! [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]  It did have a low speed wobble though, which could catch you if you weren't careful.

Had Avon's on it for my Alaska trip a couple of years back.  I hit a piece of metal in the road in Canada (to busy watching the scenery [smiley=dunce.gif]) which was big enough to get me airborn.  Bent the rear rim, but the tire held!  So I can't say anything bad about the Avon's.  I've even had a Dunlop on the rear and an Avon on the front, without any problems.  I'm sure if I rode more aggressively I might notice a problem.  I figure I'm on a Harley dresser, f#$$-em if I'm too slow for them!

I've had the CUSE to 100mph with no problems yet.  After I get 1000 miles on her I'll see if it develops a wobble at any higher speeds.

After reading this I'm glad I have problems like grips not working and gas gauge inop. Typically I'm not a really hard rider but on the interstates I usually run between 70 and 80 and I've experienced no wobble. Going to Daytona last Oct I feel in with a group and we ran 85 to 95 for long periods between Columbia SC and I95 angain no wobble. IMO this is the best handling HD I've owned to date.    [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Im going on run this wekend, so Ill see how it does 2up.

Mike, I'm betting that 2-up the only wobble you're going to experience is the one where you get hit up the back of the head for going too darned fast (nag nag...)

When the 9.5 arrives I'll let you know how much it reduces my wobble... (Just messing with Ya)

Cheers

I find this really interesting [smiley=furious.gif]. I have followed this site for some time now and this is an important safety issue.  Unlike many other issues discussed, this issue could save a life.  I would like to see this discussed thoroughly and hopefully a solution is found.  So far, I have heard:
1.  Ridestr8 stabilizer bar
2.  Windshield
3.  Tires
4.  Have stearing head bearing checked (by whom?)
5.  Have bike alignment checked (by whom?)
I am going to try these suggestions (expect tires, too much money) and see if this corrects the problem.  I would be interested to hear any other suggestions.

Have your dealer check the bike out it is a safty issue and should be corrected.  They are the ones that need to check the steering head bearings and the alignment of the front and rear tires.  You may have a broke motor mount?  Hard to say so have the mechanic check it out.  All these are very easy to check.  Have heard good and bad things about ridestr8 and the other one (name escapes me) mentioned on this site.  They basicly take the side movement out of the rear motor mount.  Windsheild not sure how that would effect wobble I run a 12" and have no problem would think short could only be ebtter.  Tire are kind of a personal thing in my opionion I perfer metzler softer compond you give up a little in tire wear but I feel they corner and brake better than a Dunlop or an Avon.  Hope this is of help in the solution to the wobble.

Here's a few other things to add to the list that others have tried with varying degrees of effectiveness (mostly none):
6.  Check front motor mount
7.  Lube steering head bearing
8.  Re-balance wheels
9.  Replace wheels
10.  Mention of Progressive 440 shocks as a possible cause (though obviously not for SEUC owners)
11.  Take tour-pak off
12.  Take lowers off
13.  Stick feet out on highway pegs

If you do a search, you'll find this has been discussed several times previously in various threads by the SEEG owners.  I've done, or had done by the dealer, everything on Canuck's list (well, only the rear tire) plus #6 and #7 and still have the wobbles in high-speed (90+ mph) sweepers.  There was a noticeable improvement after I added the Ride-Str8, which is the last thing I've done so far, but it is still there.  I should add, my bike is totally stable in a straight line at any speed and only gets the shakes in the sweeping turns, and did not do it whatsoever when new.

If someone can (finally) figure out what's causing this issue once and for all, there are a lot of us that would be eternally grateful, but to this point, I would say it's been somewhat of a mystery to most folks here.

14. If you fart while on the seat at highway speed be sure and spread cheeks evenly to dispense fart pressure in an even fantail pattern to avoid an uneven pressure vortex to port or starboard.

Just to clarify, you will know you have achieved the proper cheek position and resulting fart gas dispersion pattern when the tassels on the rear of your tour-pak begin to rotate in a counter-clockwise direction.

Sorry to hear you're having the high speed wobble problem, what a PIA.
I've had my 06 FLHTCUSE on some long rides this week. 80 MPH all day no problem 90 no problem up a 100 both 1 up & 2 up no problem here. Hope it stays that way. No I don't usually drive over 85 but had to check it out. I assume you tried different tire & rear shock air pressures!

See You in Reno on the 8th.

Well I lead a little 500 mile ride today, toward the end I got to stretch it out a bit, told the others I'd see em at the end of the road. ;) First time I'd been able to really get on it since adding the Ride-Str8.  Runnin 110-120mph on the straights I had ZERO wobble, a couple short bursts well past 120mph and still nothing, high speed sweepers (90mph+) she was solid.  I'd been on this road before with this bike and had to keep the sweepers down to about 70 because the whole bike would start getting out of shape on me, not anymore.  Felt good to be able to run thru the curves at that speed and feel confident with it, nothing like having a floorboard touch down when your doing about 100mph. ;) God I love this bike.....
