:nervous:
Kraut.......over here,  a couple of speeding tickets or most any moving violation ticket or two can jack up your insurance rates due to "point" against your drivers license........dont ask me how I know that. :-X

So especially during a recession and down economy,  all state agencies are looking for $$$revenue$$  whereever they can find it or produce it and writing tickets is a good way to boost the state revenues.

Plus the insurance companies get to jack up your rates for three yrs or so........so it pays them to provide funds to state police agences for the purchase of radar guns and other means to cause many of us to have a bad day.............

That's why I put a Radar Detector on my bike. It's saved me from many tickets. It detects from front and back. I also put a visual alert on it so even in bright sunlight it gets your attention.

Unfortunately, radar detectors are not legal in all states. :(

Correct, radar detectors are illegal in Virginia, DC, and military bases.  Laser and Radar Jammers illegal in Nebraska, Minnesota, Utah, California, Oklahoma, Virginia, Colorado, Illinois, and DC.

Been thinking of installing a stealth radar and radar/laser jammer. Very pricey but with all the municipalities around here trying to increase revenues it might be cost effective or just another way to spend money on this bike.

Apparently we have some guys on here that like power and speed. ;D It would be interesting to find out how many members have been over the speed limit. By the post about radar detectors I'd say some are habitual offenders, count me in that group. :2vrolijk_21:

Like that song from Sammy Hagar "I can't drive 65". Or was that 55?  75?

Car and Driver did a report on jammers a few years ago. They tested it using the usual method of sending out a signal for a reduced speed, but quickly got bored. Next they sent out a signal for 100+mph and drove 55 and had a ball watching smokey scramble. Hey, I'm not sayin you guys would do something like that, its illegal you know.  :P  Doc

2 fatalities on local expressway yesterday. A line of motorcycles all doing in excess of 100. 2 wiped out and died. 21 year old female passenger miraculously survived. http://m.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2FjcBCCm&h=54c66&refid=7&_ft_a=169851271377&_ft_tf=166845320044440&_ft_tpi=169851271377&_ft_ti=17&_ft_fth=bc6fc21b454b77dc&_ft_src=1&_ft_time_ft=1307555806&_ft_mf_objid=166845320044440&cb=5

I will have to admit that it is dangerous to do 100mph on a bike but you can get killed at 25 or 0 too. If we posted the stats on people killed per day in auto crashes would anybody change driving habits?

I have my problems almost always with the speed limit. But 120?   I have no need at all to try that one out.  Let me know what it feels like when someone crashes their bike going that fast.   I'm dying to know :nixweiss:
