I bought my first HD at 36 in 2000, it was an Ultraclassic. I was on the waiting list for 5 years, I could have gotten a sporty but my heart was set on the ultra. It was hard to get a Big twin back then.

First one at 41.  Convinced myself that the 2010.5 was cool enough for me  :coolblue:.

    • CVO1: 2010 FLHXSE

My first Harley was a 1990 FLSTC bought it new when I was 29. In 2009 I decided it was time for a new ride, I walked in to the dealers pulled out the 2010 brochure and there was my next bike a Spiced Rum 2010 FLHXSE. Found a dealer selling them for MSRP, put down my deposit and took delivery in March 2010. So To answer the poll 48 yrs young was when I went for comfort.

  • 2011 CVO Ultra - Cobalt & Twilight Blue

Went from dirt bikes to goldwings in my early twentys. Liked all the comforts & room for stuff, went to harleys in 2006 & was surprised i liked it so much. 52 now & ride a 2011.5 blue cvo ultra. I think economics has a lot to do with the age of cvo riders, when you get older you have more disposible income for toy's. CVO'S are nice but far from cheap. Just my opinion.

I bought a Yamaha Maxim 750 when I was 22, took delivery on a 03 Wide Glide in Nov 02, and took delivery on a 2010 SEUC in Feb of 2010 at the age of 33. After putting 11,000 mile on the Ultra there's no comparison to the Wide Glide. I can't wait to get out and ride again this summer.

I know it it can't be turned into a real bagger, but the possibility to be able to convert a nice looking solo ride into a bike with bags and some protection in three minutes made the Convertible an easy choice for 47 year old Harley Newbie.
