Ultra...I don't think much of anything is made here any more, at least not totally. Exxon/Mobil is US based. Of course they have plants all over the world, like all big corperations these days. I run BP, Shell, Chevron, and Exxon in my vehicles 99% of the time, and try to trade at stations who turn over a lot of fuel so it's fresh. I grew up using Amoco "white gas" because my granddaddy owned a little two pump station near the steel mills here in B'ham...back when there were steel mills. I used it because it kept my caburators clean...only thing with no lead back then, if I'm not mistaken. Now they're owned by BP.
If HD oil was a superior product, I'd probably use it, but it's clearly not. So, I'll use Mobil 1 and others will use Amsoil, etc.
I wouldn't use Exxon products for years after the Valdese thing up in Alaska, but in the past year started again. Fact is, most of our petroleum comes from places where we don't necessarily agree with their politics or culture...it's unavoidable. There's not enough of it here for us to get by on...hell, the Artic Wildlife Refuge would only supply us for 6 months if everything else dried up, so that's not worth fu$#ing up for that.
