My installation and initial impressions are in this thread on hdforums.com:

http://www.hdforums.com/forum/touring-models/661124-installation-and-initial-review-rockford-fosgate-300w-4-channel-amp.html

The RF amp is like having two Arc mini 125.2's if you're using 4 ohm impedance speakers since the RF amp is 75W per channel and the Arc is 70W per channel using 4 ohm impedance speakers.

I'm very happy with the Amp driving modestly priced Infnity Reference 6.5" speakers in the fairing and fairng lowers; the Hogtunes Hog Pod tweeters are powered only by the HK head unit.  This set-up is a significant improvement over my previous set-up using the Arc 125.2 driving the fairing lower speakers and the HK radio driving the fairing speakers and tweeters which I was happy with, and only changed out the Arc because of the new RF 4-channel amp.

If you have CB/XM/Ipod modules, you can buy Scott's bracket to install the (2) modules below the radio and the amp above the radio which is what I did--one module (CB) only in my case.

TIF2 (Rich) is in the midst of installing the RF amp on his SESG2 using Hertz speakers and tweeters in the faring and fairing lowers, and a separate RF amp in the tour pak for the 6.5" speakers in the pods.

Hey Carl. Will this amp work with my 2 ohm 7.25" J&M's?  It seems that this is a little smaller than the J&M 500w amp, and would probably be comparible in performance if it can handle 2 ohms?  I was thinking about upgrading but wonder how the two amps compare?  I've got the lower 7.25"s and the Batwing 7.25's that I'd like to run off a 4 ch amp.  I also wonder about these new tech amps that are supposedly coming down the pike soon that are smaller yet and more powerful? Can't recall the new call name?  Thoughts?

You can call RF customer service for their answer, but I'm about 99% sure that the RF amp is not compatible with 2 ohm speakers unless they're wired in series (so the amp "sees" 4 ohm impedance) in which case you lose front/rear control.

As for newer amps, I have no infor.  Rich (TIF2) may have some information.

For those who may be considering this amp in the future:
On my 2011 SEUC, I was able to get this amp to fit on top of the stock head unit by re-arranging the upper loom.
Without any special bracket or relocating the cb and xm modules.

Congrats on the installation, and the information that the amp will fit on top of the modules.

Any chance you can post a picture or two to show what you did to make it work?

Sure thing.  I have some new speakers coming in the mail, and will take some pictures when I tear the fairing apart to install them.

I am powering 2 ohm speakers with it now.  No problems that I can tell.  The speakers that are on order are 4 ohm ones to replace the 2 ohm though.

R/F amp mounted, no relocation kit:

Got those 4 ohm speakers installed, too.  Sounds great!

After waiting 4 months I received my Rockford Fosgate Punch PBR300X4 amp on 7-1-11. I ran straight home and installed amp using Alpine R series (SPR-60) spkr. The Alpine R have rare earth magnets that are small and strong as u know what. also the Alpine R series are 6-3/4" that fits in a 6 1/2" hole. First I wired the amp in the 2 channel mode and I was pretty impressed, Then I separated the tweeter wires from the woofer and wired it using front channel for the tweets and rear channel for woofers. set crossover switches front to HP, rear to AP. switched amp to 4 channel mode. Set gain control front and rear at 5. Now for the results, this 2 speaker 1 amp system will have you dancing! on your seat riding down the highway. This winter I removed the system from my 2005 SEEG and installed in wife's 2009 street glide. I just received my 2012 Hot citrus SESG and had to compare the BOOM audio 400W high output 8 speaker audio system to the Wife's 300W two speaker system, Results were pretty close in overall volume but the bass was much better on the wife's bike. Bass is so intense  on wife's bike I should keep a extra headlight bulb on hand. Thinking about removing amp and speakers on 2012 SESG replacing with Rockford & Alpine setup to gain space and lose weight.

What signals did you use for rear input to the amp?
Glad you're happy with the install but it makes no sense at all how and why you wired it this way.

Alpine lists the SPR-60 series of speakers at 6.5" and not 6.75" - at least according to the alpine-usa website.

I also just ordered the Alpine SPR-60's! Can't wait for them to arrive!

If you visit crutchfield this is what they say:

 Alpine SPR-60
Type-R 6-3/4" 2-way car speakers — also fits 6-1/2" openings

I think they are just a little bigger than the normal 6-1/2" speakers.

Dunno where Critchfield is getting their info, but according to Alpine they are 6.5" woofers.

As listed on alpine-usa.com:

Dimensions
Woofer Diameter (mm): 165mm
Woofer Diameter (in): 6-1/2''
Woofer Mounting Diameter (mm): 136mm
Woofer Mounting Diameter (in): 5-3/8''
Woofer Mounting Depth (mm): 59mm
Woofer Mounting Depth (in): 2-3/8''

Link is here:
http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/spr-60

165mm is "industry standard" for a 6.5" speaker. I can't find anything about these speakers that would classify them as 6.75" (well - other than the aforementioned Crutchfield reference).

I am installing the Rockford amp and want to use the rear inputs from the HK head unit to power speakers in the my lowers.  Can anyone tell me which wires (color, pin number, etc) control the rear channel?  I could pull a speaker out of my tourpak pod and look but I was hoping someone already had the answer.

Thanks!!

Here you go:

28A (35 pin) H/K radio:
Pin 1    ------- RT Rear Spkr (+) ---------- GRN
Pin 24  ------- RT Rear Spkr (-) ----------- LGN/BRN

Pin 2    ------- LFT Rear Spkr (+) ---------- BRN
Pin 25  ------- LFT Rear Spkr (-) ---------- WHT/BRN

Don't confuse the White/Brown wire with the Brown/White wire that is also present.
Easy to mistake them so make sure you get the corresponding pins correct.

Hope this helps....

Click on the "Instruction Sheets" in this link for helpful information on how to install wires in the 28 (35 wire connector):
