day 10 sun jun 19th:
las vegas to gallup nm 455 miles

now that it was daylight it was time to cruise the vegas strip

had planned to take gopro pics of the strip but with the battery problems it did not happen

leaving vegas we stopped at hoover
the water is down over 100 feet

arizona spillway hasnt seen much use in a while

bypass bridge

long way down to the river below

cant image how difficult their work was

we left hoover and crossed over the bypass bridge this would be the first of many days on I-40 but we did break it up on rt66 through some of the old restored streets when we could.

we had to make a stop in winslow on the way through AZ

we were trying to get to Albuquerque to meet up with simon but just didnt get there

day 13 wed jun 22nd:
lakeview ar to memphis tn 296 miles

i know your thinking wait he said the gulf coast.... well 13 days into our trip and we finally let mother nature dictate our plans the weather rad for the gulf and almost all of LA was mostly yellow and red, we were only about 20 miles from LA so we crossed into LA for a few miles then turned back and headed north, actually we backtracked north west to try and stay behind the weather and it worked mostly sunny all day.

the view looking south into LA

when we got to memphis we stopped at graceland

Looks like loads of fun. Very jealous, I dream of being able to ride those same roads someday. :2vrolijk_21: Is it hard to keep the bugs off the lens of the Gopro camera?

day 13 cont.
we found a place to stay on union ave that was within walking distance of beale st and set out on what was probably the funnest night we had on the road since leaving the GTG.

speaking of the GTG we saw some reminders of some of the people form the GTG

our first stop for a cold  :drink: the flying saucer draught emporium

relaxed and cooled of we continued to beale we didnt know it when we arrived in memphis but wed night is bike night on beale st.

2nd place at MIM sounded like a good place to try some local Q

time to walk off the Q and listen to some music

getting thirsty again  :drink:

i think jock has been here talking the ladies out of their clothes

lets listen to some more music

and another reminder of friends left behind in tahoe

day 14 thur jun 23rd:
mempis tn to elizabethtown ky 357 miles

by now we were over 6000 miles into the trip the miles seemed to be getting longer and harder with more frequent stops our mindset also began to change from exploring and adventuring to heading for home.

our only scenic stop of the day and what would be out last of the trip was paducah

i have arrived home 7400 miles later
