Great pics, JC.  I'll have to say, I really like the paint on that bike, as well as the graphics.  Not overdone.  That seat looks really good too...hopefully, it's comfortable too.  I'm sure Corbin could match it though... 8)

Terrie looks so good on that bike, and it fits her so well, you just need to surprise her with it.  Of course, finding a helmet that comes close to matching that paint might be an issue.   ;)

It's only money, man...

Good Shoots JC , appositely gorgeous, and the bike is too  ;)

Terry looks real good on that bike,, i think you need to work a deal and take it home,, what the heck, you only live life once  :2vrolijk_21:

I tried.....but they said trading straight across for her 09 Street Glide (that is well over 40k miles) wasn't much of a deal.  So I offered to throw a couple hundred in just to balance things out.  They looked at me like I had a mental condition.  Well, I may have but I didn't tell them that.  Anyway....there's no way, no how.  Her 09 Street Glide has the 2010 SESG rear fender, saddle bags, LED tailights, etc. the Blade wheels off the 09 SERG, painted inner fairing, Dakota Digital gauges, etc. etc. etc. probably $25-$28k in that bike and they want to offer $15k-$16 on a trade.  Oh yes, the MoCo put a new motor in it for her about 4k miles ago so the motor is very low miles.  Anyway, it's just not going to happen.....

As for the 200W amp.....roughly I think it was approx. the width of the saddle bag, maybe 2" thick and 4" deep.  Not big at all, really.  But, when I'm touring (which is often) my bags are packed to the point where I am grateful that it's the ABS plastic and no longer the fiberglass because the fiberglass would have cracked long before now.  So regardless of how little space the amp takes or each of the speakers......accumulatively, it's way to much space for either of us to give up.  And as packed as we are......no space at all for air to cool the amp and it's buried in the bottom.

I like all the comfort features.  A chopped tour pack isn't an option because I always have an ice chest in the king tour pack (love my diet pepsi, gatorade, etc. ice cold....literally) and I carry a Nikon DSLR so the king tour pack is the only one big enough for the ice chest and the camera bag and the lap top.  Can't get along without any of the three. ;D  Don't know how I got along before I started riding baggers. ;)   I guess I can relate it to A/C, power windows, cruise control, heated seats, heated rear view mirrors, in the car and truck, etc........once you have it, you just can't live without it.  But I can remember as a youngster (more concerened about speed and performance) saying "I don't need air conditioning......it just slows you down".  It was several years after all my buddies had cars with A/C before I finally surrendered.  But I was the first one of our group to go from the hot rod, stoker motor, stripped down light weight hot rod bike to the Ultra Classic......they all thought I'd lost my mind.  Now look at em all. :2vrolijk_21:

So, if I ever ended up with one of those sound systems....as resistant as I am to give up the space.....I'm sure I'd get spoiled by that sound system and not be able to live without it.  It sure did sound nice......much louder yet much clearer than any bike I've ever heard.  Besides the fact it's two 200W amps, I think the location of the speakers (front fairing, tweeters up higher, leg fairing all coming from the front and then the saddle bag liteally right behind your body and blowing up toward your ears is all relevant to the "balanced" quality sound.

OK, I'll get off my  :soapbox: now.  You guys rush out there and get yours and then tell me what I'm missing. :nixweiss:

Wow, the colors and paint on the SESG are fantastic.

Sure wish Harley would have done that sounds system on the FLTRXSE also.

Anyone know when the first red/maroon ones will hit the dealers?  My dealer has one coming in next month, just not sure when.  And I was hoping to see some decent pics before that to help me decide if I want to wait for the red, or continue to have my dealer look for a slate/black one for me.  So far I have seen nice pics of the slate/black and the citrus/gunstock, just not much out there of the red yet.

I know it was brought up earlier about water on the speakers,
but what about water in the bags? Will the water get around the speakers?

Exactly my thoughts when I first saw them.
Sure the MOCO has tested in various senarious but time will tell.
Just hope they are ok and don't have any problems.

If the speakers are decent quality Marine grade then they should be completely waterproof and not allow any water through them.  The only other place they could leak would be around the perimeter and a good silicone sealer or rubber gasket would eliminate that.  And should be easy to fix if it did start to leak over time with a good silicone calking or RTV.

If they can make a radio that can stand up to wet weather and washing, with all its moving buttons and an opening for a CD, then speakers in the saddlebag lids should be a piece of cake. ;D

I am sure its a simple gasket that can be replaced if it ages. We have had speakers in recreational boats for how many decades? We are not splitting the atom here with outside speakers.

I would think that the front edge of the speaker box is angled enough for the water to drain out and down the front side of the bag, which would explain the design in the cover.

Even if while riding water gets in there, I'm sure as soon as you stop the water would drain.

Haven't seen one in person yet, just surmising here.   :nixweiss:

I think you are correct. The speaker is diafaintley angled enough to drain water.  :2vrolijk_21:

Need I remind everyone that Harley has been making bikes since 1903 and everyone had a seat on it.  In '09 on the SERG's, '10 on the SESG, they could not make a seat to fit the bike without pulling away from the tank/console about an inch.  They finally got it right "again" in '11 on the SESG, but come on Harley, a seat is not that hard to make fit correctly...  Of course this doesn't even address the fact that most of the seats are very uncomfortable for more than say 200 miles.

I rest my case...

If Harley's were actually waterproof, why have they always cautioned customers about spraying them with high pressure water?  The gauges, the hand controls, various bearings, the radio/cd player, many of the electrical connections, saddlebag or TP lids, etc., aren't even close to being "waterproof".

BTW, just because they install something on the bikes doesn't mean they actually tested it and made sure it works properly.  For example, the 2007 CVO110 engine leaks and compensator problems.  Never assume they actually tested anything in their rush to throw stuff out there quickly to make more money.  So until the other guys prove out those new speakers, try to avoid riding in the rain.  Or maybe Harley will do like they have with so many of their other bright ideas, come out with a bandaid they can sell for an extra charge, like they did with the compensator fiasco.  How about a rain sock for the speakers, made to match the one for the air cleaner? ;)
