X2

I'd verify in some way that the SESG front end is not already lowered an inch, but even if it's not, the 19" wheel/fender combo could very well be the reason the lowering kit is not recommended.  I guess you could verify that by measuring the distance from the middle of the front axle to some given point on the top end of the fork (like the cowbells), then comparing that measurement to a stock EG, or a SEUC with stock front end.  The stock front suspension dives so much, hitting the top of the fender is a real possibility, and that would be a pisser.  Plus, lowering the front end gives up 1" of suspension travel on a bike that already has limited travel to begin with.  IMO, that is an undesirable thing.  But, to each his or her own.  If the purpose is to get your feet flatter on the ground when stopped or parking the bike, lowering the seat height for that situation can be accomplished in several other ways, like having the seat modded, buying another seat, or installing a fully adjustable air ride suspension on the rear end that can be lowered when needed, the latter being the more expensive option, for sure.

I see the concern....I already went with a C&C seat which made things better, but I was just more comfortable on the SEEG than I am on my SESG and was looking for the next step. I wouldn't want to go to low, maybe I will measure height differences and fender clearance in the hope of trying the 1" lower Progressives......we will see......

I sat on a 2005 SEEG in a showroom last week and noticed it was lower than my '11 SESG even with the C&C solo seat that I have on mine. Was the seat on the SEEG even lower or was the stock suspension lower on the 05 right from the factory? Does anybody know??
Seat height on a 2005 SEEG is 26.89" and ground clearance is 4.21" OEM. :2vrolijk_21:

2011 SESG is 27.4" unladen and ground clearance is 5.1"...1/2" difference on the seat and almost an inch on the clearance......

Thanks

The bottom edge of the cowbells will be almost even with the top of the fender if the
bike is standard height.
If the bike came lowered the bottom edge of the cowbells will be almost 1 inch down
the fender.

Just checked...bottom edge of the cowbells is just about even with the top of the fender. I guess the front of the '11 SESG is not lowered...just the back.

you would be correct. the front is not lowered. I don't think the MoCo has lowered any bike
in the front since the 05 seeg.

See that JR... You've got a super cool looking, "slammed" SE, and didn't even know it!
I just think these bikes look awesome lowered front & rear.  :2vrolijk_21:

Yours is a real beauty and I'm so glad that I've kept mine... Just love it!

Due to labour costs many don't bother to lower the front.  However those who do definitely notice a huge difference with being able to reach the ground flat footed, because the front of the seat is now lower and having your hands lower also gives many comfort.

Hey Griz! :drink: Actually I knew mine was lowered when I bought it. What I didn't know was how to look at the front forks and know it!  :2vrolijk_21:
