With the seat on low, it is still too hot, I have to switch it on/off.  On low for about 1 mile, off for about ~5 miles.  I wish I could move a little of the heat to the grips.  At 25 F and high speeds (yes, I ride way too fast) the grips aren't warm enough, even on max, with what I think are good heavy gloves.  When I was riding on 35-40 F mornings, I thought the grips were fine, but at colder temps, I could stand a little more heat in the grips.  I have light, medium, and heavy gloves. Maybe I need to go glove shopping?  I can't see using electric gloves when I don't use any other electric clothing.

I think you have an issue with your seat if it's too hot on a 25 degree day...on Low.  It has an internal sensor that maintains the temp...I'd say yours is not working.  Or you've got a really sensitive azz. :huepfenlol2:

The perfect solution on the gloves is a pair that will transfer heat through the palms, but insulate the back of the hand.  Here is that perfect solution, but be prepared for sticker shock:  http://www.leeparksdesign.com/eshopprod_cat_530-3637_product_148850.DeerSports_PCi_Black.htm   I've had a pair of these for 5 years and my hands have never gotten cold, but I don't ride when it's below 25 degrees (and then there's got to be a promising forcast for sun and 40 degrees later in the day).  If you don't like a Gauntlet style, he also has these:  http://www.leeparksdesign.com/eshopprod_cat_530-3637_product_341068.DeerTours_PCi_Black.htm  For summer riding, I use these:  http://www.leeparksdesign.com/eshopprod_cat_530-3637_product_33203.DeerTours_Black.htm  If you've never worn a Deerskin Glove, there's nothing else like it.  Get it wet, it dries out without becoming stiff.  I've worn the regular DeerTours for 5 years...I never get on the bike without gloves...and while you can tell I've worn them a lot, they are still in great condition.  You can get the regular (non PCI) DeerTours at Fox Creek Leather...they give CVO members a small discount.  Lee Parks is currently running free shipping.  They are also made in the USA.  In this case you really do get what you pay for, and most people aren't going to pay that kind of money for gloves, but hands are the first thing to hit the ground in a crash...it's instinctive.

I have these gloves that are battery operated.

With out the power on, my hands sweat in them above 60 degrees so the material does well, and I have no issues in the 20s heated. That was on my fatbob, so no fairing protection. Adjustbale and comfy, I'm really happy with them.

Overall, I love the bike!

But, today I rode to work (22 miles one way) and it was 25 F @ 0600 hrs.

And, the valvetrain at 2,200 to 2,800 rpm.  I hate to say it, but I'm kinda getting used to it.

The better tour pak hinges and retractable tether for the lid are on Santa's list for stocking stuffers.

I'm riding her every day this winter that's not raining or snowing, but I'll sure be glad when spring is here!

It may seem counter-intuitive but try some thinner gloves.   Thick gloves don't transfer heat any better than they do cold.  All that insulation works against you.
With the grips I generally don't wear any gloves at all unless the temps are below 40.

Totally agree on the chrome brake calipers, at least on the front, and also some of the larger zinc bolts should be chrome. In my case I immediately switched out the passenger floorboard bolts for chrome ones. Big difference. I have an 09 so I have the silver paint, so I don't mind the silver calipers as much, but for that much money they should be chrome. CAHDBIKER

I could care less about the tour pack hinges and don't have floorboards.....but they sure should have chrome brake calipers. :2vrolijk_21:

Actually now that you mention it, stainless bolts all around would be nice.

Polished stainless bolts are actually better in the long run than chrome bolts...chrome bolts, especially socket head, will eventually begin to rust in the socket.

How about the pot metal motor mount on the front of the Streetglide, Billet Alum one is $120.00 and lack of lower wind deflector under the triple trees. Air temp gauge. Seems like I could think of a few more.
At 30 grand sticker maybe put stainless bolts in the cases, option for chrome switch housings, starter cover, handle bars etc.

With HD, that's for very short values of "eventually"!  >:(

There has been a few times that I just scratched my head and wondered how HD can charge so much and overlook some obvious things that really wouldn't cost a whole lot of money to make right on my 2011 CVO Ultra Classic.

Such As:
1.)  Why cant I read the gauges at night???  Very annoying!  I don't care if your vision is good or not.  There is no way you can see the symbols because of the background and you can barely see the needle!!

2.)  Why doesn't the 660 Gps mp3 function play through the stereo without having to run a patch cable between the 660 and the AUX input???

3.)  Why aren't the rocker switches illuminated for night use, ie; cruise, passing lamps, speaker switch???

4.)  Why do you still have to plug in for the intercom system????  Why no bluetooth tech???  It's 2012 for god sake, we don't do wires anymore people!!!!!

OK....That's enough!.......For now.

I agree with most of the issues mentioned.  But my biggest pet peeve that should have been included on a $33k bike that is mostly chromed out:  Why not include $25 of chrome switch caps to match chrome switch housings?
